A flight with a Gyrocopter Typ Cavalon with Rotax Turbo 115 HP. Landing and Take Off with a Density Altitude of 6800 ft. Reaching 9500 ft MSL on a warm summer day in south of France. Specification of the Gyrocopter Cavalon: Vne 160 km/h, Cruising 140-150 km/h, Fuel 100l 95, Distance no Wind 500 km + no wind. Take off roll ca 150m. landing over 15ft arround 100-150m depending of headwind. Stearing with stick linked to rotorhead. Ruder (pedal) over Slipindicater (yaw string on the windshield). Rotorblades/head is not linked to engine and therefore spins free (Auto rotation). Landings (ca 100 km/h IAS) therefore also in Auto rotation with engine idle if possible to train for engine failure.
