I love steemit. Please, don't get me wrong, but what I get from steemit is rather less social than I would like. So, I was thinking about that. It's my fault. No really, it's not you, it's me.
I come in here, day after day and I post my fiction, or inspiration, and I chat a bit in the comments, but, that's about it. I want to get to know some of you. Anybody else feel that way. In some ways, I think Steem is the least social of all social media I currently use.
I recognize there are other channels, on steem chat, and discord, for conversation, but, why not here. So, here's what I propose.
Let's share our steem stories!
If you've been here five minutes, or the whole two years since the platform started, I'd love to know about why you do it, what you're getting out of it, what you'd like to see happen and how I might be able to fit into any of that.
To make this easy, let's go ahead and establish a tag, so if you're participating, here's how. Use the tag #mysteemstory and share a few things about your experience here. I'll be posting a separate post to tell my own version. If you decide to participate, add that tag to your post on your own blog, then come back here and drop a link in the comments below, so everyone can have a chance to read it.
I know, many of you are sharing this stuff already, but...
If there is one thing that's clear, finding things on Steemit is a challenge. I know they are working on "groups" to help build smaller communities, but why not go ahead and get that started! So, here are a few rules I think should apply.
- This is not just for self promotion, although that's part of why we're all here, so, please, be prepared to read, comment and upvote on other stories!
- While steem is far from perfect, let's keep it positive. It's okay to share struggles, but please, no begging, no bitching and no dogging of other users, okay?
- Share whatever your experience has been so far. If you've got a lot, great, but if not, that's okay too. I'd love to see this get a hundred comments.
Here's what I want to know!
So, to get this started, here's what I want to know!
- Your life. Besides steem, how do you spend your time? Family? business?
- How you found steemit, was it a friend, were you looking, or surprised. Did you get it right away, or were you skeptical?
- What has been your best experience with the platform? Have you met someone cool, gained confidence, made money, whatever that is for you.
- Tell us about your work here, what do you do? Are you sharing recipes, or funny stories, or making videos, or sharing killer crypto tips.
- What is your goal for your steemit experience? Do you have any? Why not? Make one up and share it? Want lots of followers? A million SP? Whatever! Dream away!
- What would you like to see happen with steem that you haven't seen yet? This can be anything.
Okay, so, I know a lot of you are ready to get started, so here's what you need to do.
- Please, consider resteeming and upvoting this post before you leave, to help us get as many people interested as possible.
- Write your story and use the #mysteemstory tag in your tags line.
- Come back here and leave a link to your steem story.
- Take the time to follow some links and read about others! You'll make new friends. If you find people you like, follow, upvote, resteem and comment!
I'm excited to see how this goes, I hope it takes off. Thanks guys and have a great day!

So, if you can take the time to write a comment, please leave an upvote. Also, leaving comments on content you did not read, is considered spam. Just thought you'd like to know. Please, consider writing your own #mysteemstory and adding to the project, as well as resteeming this so others can find it! Thanks.
