Except, that is not exactly "the system" it's working around the system, which is supposed to allow community input on which pieces receive reward. Anyone that wants to earn here, should be subject to it. Sorry, I don't agree.

I agree. The system will work if there were rules. Unfortunately you put money in the equation and it all goes out the window. There is such an imbalance with whales, dolphins and newbies that the whales will just get bigger if they look after each other.

Well, you're almost correct, except, in the case of this post, it's the newbies making the whales rich, and actually, that's always been the case. They glom onto those large paying posts, hoping to earn from curation rewards, and the money just flows up. Plus, the votes being bought are going straight into whale pockets too.
