Steemit a Revolution in Social Media or a Ponzi Scheme? Tone Vays [YouTube Interview]

Hey guys take a look at the interview: @csthetruth - Tone Vays

Although this interview is quite negative, here are some neutral/positive points for Steemit.

  • Check the spanish version at the end. -

  • What is Steemit?
It is a forum and a wallet.

  • Is Steemit a scam?
No, however, many people is been getting confused by its format.

  • Is steemit centralized?
Yes, the content is steemit is censored and also centralized since the users who own majority of the supply get to decide which posts make it to the front page and which posts get higher payouts.

  • Do the community really value good content or is it a matter of popularity?
Hard to say. I have seen content that really does not seem to be so good in "Trending" or "Hot" what makes anyone feel discouraged. However, I believe that there is a good potential in steemit, people who are really dedicated to sharing top quality content, here I share a few of them:

Trending
Crypto purification
https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@cicbar/crypto-purification
THE TRUTH
https://steemit.com/truth/@suesa/the-truth

  • Is steemit a blockchain?
Steem.it is a blockchain-based social media platform where anyone can earn rewards by posting relevant content. However, the philosophy of blockchain is to be decentralized technology, transparent and incorruptible, and solves the problem of manipulation, which makes people mad about it, because this specific detail differs from what the blockchain is, if we take into account that comments can be flagged and even names.

But as a community, steemit has its rules, from there I understand that some comments or names are censored, and this must be independent of what the blockchain is supposed to be.

Tendencias
Crypto purification
https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@cicbar/crypto-purification
THE TRUTH
https://steemit.com/truth/@suesa/the-truth

Steem needs to get big and strong. At the same time whatever size Steem is, you still can make ends meet.

like any other crypto, steem is kinda new and needs to grow.

.....and gonna be strong with us

so long as there's a development to the platform and gives value to people, it isn't a scam. you can check their github they quite active. :)

STEEMIT has so much potential with the blogging world it is insane IMO

That's why I am i steemit :)

I think steemit is better than Facebook. Facebook is worth over $400 billion. There is some pyramid scheme qualities to steemit but you can make some money and your votes are worth money even if it's not much. I don't think the top 30 whales have the time to monitor every single steemit account. I also think Dtube is better than Youtube. What "laws" does Youtube follow?

Proof of work uses a lot of power.

Nothing is perfect and hopefully steemit will evolve into something of greater value than what we see today. That way the early adopters can earn a few bucks when steem appreciates ;) Thanks.

Amen!

Is something a ponzi if it goes on for decades? Seems like Steemit has a lot of growth potential - every currency is a ponzi in the modern age lol steem is "backed" by it's users and like any other currency, it's value is determined by demand. If there is no more demand steem price will tank - does that mean it's a ponzi?

Everything is a ponzi

Yeah unlike the dying ponzi USA dollar I think steem might go up in value.

Before i comment, I need to say that currently, I have some holding in cryptocurrencies, (BTC, LTC, DOGE, XMR) but zero in STEEM. Never thought STEEM going to be so lively.
I've been watching STEEMIT since the beginning. It start with very sceptical view. I once underestimated STEEM, never expect it will reach so far. From what I have seen so far, STEEM have passed the test of time. Enough to draw my attention ( don't know if it means anything to the community :D ). I will hang around and pick some good article & writers to follow. Let's make a good one.

Nice post dear good 1

Thanks! :)

Its my plzer dear

hahah :) thanks for editing. Yes . I'm a girl

Hmmmmm i show ur photo and edit my comment

I don't understand why people get so mad when someone posts something not that interesting, but that goes "viral". Sometimes we just want to read something that can makes us laugh.

THE FUTUR YES

Just joined steemit but am loving it and have high hopes in this platform

Welcome to the platform, I wish everything work out for you too. <:

Steemit is not a scam but a platform to get rewarded for ones creativity. Since i joined steemit i have become a better writer.

right! it helps us grow in different ways

Steemit shares some things ponzi schemes do. But atleast its backed by content instead of nothing. I feel most people get invovled because of the money but over time find that there is some quality content worth reading. Well thats what happened to me anyway haha

like many people... who could say NO to money :)

Haha thats true. Nothing wrong with trying to earn some extra. People well use it for both

What do you mean by things from Ponzi? Guys that joined first get more votes(=money)?

You pay 1 steem dollar to an upvote bot and get 2 back. Kinda ponzi schemeish

Lets make Steemit a great succes with each other. Great article.

Upvote & Follow :)

i wish there was a way to get value for sharing outside of steemit, to tally likes, and get some kind of reward for bringing new eyes to steemit that way. its unbelievably hard to get people to sign up when it takes weeks to join, and by then your post is in the dustbin of steemit history.

Two weeks? for me was like 2 days.. as far as I can remember. But like someone said: steemit is growing

yeah, it took me a little over a week and a half, but ive seen alot of comments of people who were waiting upwards of two weeks and still no email.

For some reason some accounts are not approved. I know this, but I don't know the reasons behind it.. which I honestly, would like to know

Nice post !
And as you I'm also in.
I hope to contribute with good content

Thank you!! I hope to see you posting soon :)

It is worth to read this post, as this a great debate whether it is a scam or not. Here I have seen that some one liner post get more upvotes than a good matter of contents. This feels sometime discriminated sometimes. It might be possible that they are supported by bots or their reputation scores are higher.

sadly seems that bots play a huge role now

muy buen post siguiéndote para ver lo nuevo

Muchas gracias por tu apoyo!

Good! I just need to stay focus and get more new ideas to earn on this steemit.

That's right!

Great new platform for game streaming when all the other channels like twitch and youtube are highly competitive. The community around the Dapps are amazing as well. Take Dlive for example, I have been streaming on there for about a week and have already met a few other game streamers and have been playing with them since. You feel much more connected with the people on here because you're not just adding onto a big ocean of content (like youtube or twitch), but rather creating content and channels that are actually developing the channel and providing a reason for people to tune in. Love steemit and the Dapps!

I havent try Dlive yet but I'm tempted to do it, Your comment encourages me even more.. Maybe very soon.

read some of your article here. Thanks for upvote and following me. Appreciated it. Question, How do I transfer sbd? or do you mean steem dollars.. He he he... I am new.. so still confuse and I am damn with crypto. I am still learning. trying my best. gosh... heheheh

If you want to transfer sbd go to your wallet/STEEM DOLLARS/Transfer/Type the user name/Amount/memo(optional)

Tone is a one trick pony Bitcoin n Maximalist. He also has issues with Dan Larimer.

which would explain some things. Thanks

That link has an interview with Tone Vays and Dan Larimer on the phone. Clearly Tine makes an accusation and Dan corrects him... over and over and over.

That was a intense interview!! a good one

Yes, after Tone kept coming after Dan with like every angle he could possible imagine it just seemed like he was just upset. Satoshi said "if its not POW then its a fraud". So that is it... Common. I think Dan is the POS Satoshi. Both have merits but it does not make one a fraud.

In Blockchain technology we trust :)

Blockchain tour the force :D

Hey, nice post ! I like your content. Keep up the good work! It's always nice to see good content here on Steemit! Congratulations

We going to promote steemit and actually make bugger and bigger because it aplatform where we actually earn and also express our views . so were to do oyr best to promote it and thanx to all of those who are doing so

I am two weeks into steemit and just yesterday realized that the money flows to power and power flows to money, just like everywhere else, and that AI programs can autoharvest my author rewards faster than I can. Still a worthwhile media platform, but it took me awhile to catch on to the economics and politics.

I am new to this. I haven't even got far yet of knowing how to make $ from this; however, I heard that your chance of earning from your article is only available for 7 days. I am quite skeptical because of this. I hope someone can explain why the creator will only get some during the first seven days of the article. How about the future upvotes that your article might get? I appreciate if someone will take time to explain this to me. Thank you.
