Sometimes giving up is OK. I mean giving up your bad habits. Specifically bad eating habits.
I LOVE chocolate, sweets, snacks, ice cream, pastry .... Not to mention fast food. Yum!!!
Luckily I don't eat too much, otherwise I would be bigger than a house.
But, that is my favorite kind of food. Honestly.
Throughout the years I've been fighting with my bad habits, winning and losing my battles with it. Doing great for months without soda and sugar, then giving in.
I know it is addiction. When you feel the need to eat something sweet every day, few times a day, not being able to resist, inventing all kinds of silly reasons why is it OK to take one more cookie, to treat yourself with a sweet when you do something. It's a problem.
Some call it sweet tooth. I call it - incoming gastritis.
It wasn't enough for me to have occasional stomach issues, I let it slide. Year after year, cake after cake and finally I got myself a diagnose - GERD - Gastroesophageal reflux disease.
It wasn't enough to stop me for real, I mean, I respected my doctors orders for a while and then bite per bite returned to old habits. It got worse and finally I decided I had it. So I stopped. No juice(any kind) no candy, no sugar. First days are more than tough because you have a habit. A craving. Your body asks for sugar. But, you stay tough and after a couple of days, you don't feel that urge and if you are mentally strong and don't remind yourself all the time of sweets(you should avoid supermarkets for a few days because almost every row is filled with forbidden pleasures) you win.
Then you'll notice that your stomack is more flat, you don't feel heartburn all the time and you breath easier.
Sugar is addictional. It makes you crave and once you clean yourself from it and start to take some fruit instead, you are a winner. But don't eat too much fruit either, it has its own sugar. You'll find it's possible.
Of course, allowed secret is dark chocolate, in small amounts, about 8 grams a day. It's good for your heart and brain.
And it's still chocolate 😃
