πŸ’ THE QUESTION TO THE STEEM TEAM

πŸ’ Why has the problem at Poloniex not been addressed

πŸ’ Poloniex not working is adding downward pressure to the Steem price

πŸ’ Poloniex has been down for the last 11 days with this message

STEEM is currently under maintenance or experiencing wallet/network issues. Deposits and withdrawals will remain disabled until a solution is found, which may require an update from the STEEM team . Any updates must be tested and audited before enabling.

Should this be a top priority to work with Poloniex and get this resolved ???????

πŸ’ In my opinion this problem is producing a lack of faith by traders to purchase Steem . This needs to be fixed sooner than later

I think so

Should this be a top priority to work with Poloniex and get this resolved?

YES.. Definetly.. Needs to be fixed asap..

Yes this needs to be fixed like now

It is not on the Steem team to fix Poloniex. Many people have reached out to them, but from what I understand they are basically ignoring us. Unfortunately there is little that can be done by anyone other than the Poloniex team.

Thanks for your input @timcliff hopefully then someone will fix this soon

I was a little bit hopeful to see a doji on the daily steem chart form yesterday....

But of course we now have this next ugly red candle. More of the same. Down we go πŸ˜”

I'll be adding more STEEM to my steemit account tomorrow and using it to power up if this trend continues. I've been doing quite a bit of this lately.

You do pose an interesting question regarding lack of wallet functionality on poloniex. I don't have an account there--I use bittrex.

Im waiting like i said few days ago, pretty sure it will go under 1.

It's not just poloniex, I have heard other popular exchanges are also not dealing with steem right now. Surely somethings need to be fixed by the steem team, but sadly we get too few updates from our CEO and team.

siddartha is this true? What other exchanges? That's worriesome. Although I think we can still use bloacktrades to move money in and out of steemit.

Well I have heard bittrex, changely, shapeshift are also having issues with steem............

Hi, polo has his own steemit account, check out their wallet : https://steemit.com/@poloniex/transfers
looks like they get nonstop (hourly) steem from changelly :D :D :D

Poloniex is not the best exchange but it is the most widely used one. Their service is terrible but seems to be due to them having too much success. They aren't going to steal from you but you might end up waiting a very long time to get any real support if you ever have issues.

I remember several years ago Poloniex was hacked and lost some customers coins and Poloniex payed back all that was lost Therefore I believe they are good people running Poloniex

You are absolutely right, but they will have to fix this issue soon to avoid loosing customers everyday.

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

I've heard that they already lost a large portion of their volume over to Bittrex.

Damn that's crazy @timcliff 😲😲😲

Polo negative whale for steem

My (limited) understanding is that this is an issue on the Poloniex end, not a problem requiring a Dev update.

I have also heard it might have to do with some sync'ing issue by design, but I can't elaborate.

It does seem to be creating downward price pressure.

Hopefully if the wheel starts squeaking loud enough someone will fix it

Hopefully it encourages someone to make a better coin exchange

In my opinion this is a smoke screen from Poloniex. No one has problems transfering Steem except them. They have 24 million tokens in their wallet which is almost 10% of the total supply.
Unfortunately other services such as Changelly and Shapeshift use them to execute trades.

Ask yourself this question...If you can transfer Steem to anyone else why can't they?...I say bullshit.

At best they are incompetent.

Very good point @onthewayout

Has STEEM team commented on this message saying they do not know what Poloniex is talking about?
Otherwise, it could mean STEEM really has a issue don't you think?

STEEM is currently under maintenance or experiencing wallet/network issues. Deposits and withdrawals will remain disabled until a solution is found, which may require an update from the STEEM team . Any updates must be tested and audited before enabling.

I really don't know what to think at this point I would just like to see it fixed by someone

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Amen!

Why you don't use an othe exchanger ? Polonix had the same problem about a month ago, a lot og people don't use polonix now, even Jerry warned us about it !

No matter if I use Poloniex or Bittrex This tells me and others there may be a problem with the Steem token and this stifles interest in Steem

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ (edited)

Also bittrex had same problem for couple of days, but now it is perfect!

i hope all be ok!

I thought the same, but i think its poloniex fault, steem is working well on other exchanges... But surely steem price should go up if poloniex problem is fixed...

Thank you for the update, hopefully this will be resolved or I might lose my .58 Steem :)

You want to know what puts downward pressure on STEEM and SBD prices?
Check these:
https://steemit.com/steemit/@stimialiti/to-dan-ned-the-witnesses-and-to-everyone-invested-in-this-platform-to-save-steemit-this-is-what-you-should-do

https://steemit.com/steemit/@berniesanders/the-asian-steem-scheme-thank-you-ned-and-abit-for-rewarding-and-delegating-your-sp-to-empower-the-asians-to-line-their-pockets

And of course Dan and Ned liquidating their stake because they know its future direction do not help much to raise STEEM prices, nor does its inherent inflation.
Also, people like craig-grant looking to get out, no blame and no shame on him about this one.
