How to Damage your Steemit Reputation at Light Speed, turn into a Cat and move to Planet Mars - A True Story

As I was browsing my feed earlier today, July 27th, I stumbled upon a post of an interesting steemian I am following @kafkanarchy84. The title got me curious enough so I went ahead, opened it and decided to give it a read.

Basically, what I learned from the post was that @kafkanarchy84 was a victim of impersonation on the steem chat. The impersonator was abusing people using his new identity and causing all sorts of problems to @kafkanarchy84. After a delicate Holmesian investigation, @kafkanarchy84 was able to brilliantly spot the abuser's identity.

It happened to be a certain @bilalhaider.

@kafkanarchy84 then quickly reacted with the post and decided to give @bilalhaider a chance to admit his wrong doings and requested a public apology. For some reason, the impersonator decided to make things difficult and continued denying the accusations, even though, @kafkanarchy84 provided undeniable proof that point directly to his involvement.

The abuser went for hours of denial even though he had the option to get out of the situation with less damage than it turned out to be. After a long wait, the abused steemian took matters in his own hands as he taught the young men a lesson by damaging his reputation through flagging.

@bilalhaider went from a minimum of 46 reputation:

to a 9 in a very short period of time, as other steemians joined in the cause.

@bilalhaider ended up making a post where he explains the reasons for his actions and blamed cultural differences in a non-sensical camouflaged apology. He then decided to quickly change the content of the post to this other non-sense:

And yes he did use abuse as a tag.
And yes as I am writing this he also dropped 3 reputation points

After declaring his love for cats, he went ahead and decided to turn into one, got himself a proper name "Crazy Dude" all that before moving to Mars where cats are worshipped, it seems.

After all, this is what @bilalhaider had to say about @bilalhaider when he was still Bilal:

Thank you ,i call it godlike comment, heard it from a friend @danielsaori

thank you man.jpg

In my opinion, you should get an award for "Best Post Title." Sorry to hear about the dispute. But your title really compelled me to click & read.

Thank you! I would take the award anytime!
I am also pleased you ended up clicking and reading :)

Cats on Mars? You mean like

No, probably not.

Haha I can imagine the scene!

Oh my goodness. That guy is such a moocher. I have seen him on the chat, and had to flag some of his posts before because he was calling randowhale a scammer because he sent the wrong amount to them, but they clearly say not to and no refunds in there bio.

He finally decided to leave our planet Steemit. Let's hope he does not come back for a while. :)

Thanks man. Resteemed.

@lukestokes provided some of the most convincing evidence, at the end, after the admission from he who shall not be named Mars Cat Dude.

Oh great to see that @lukestokes provided more evidence. Mars Cat Dude is guilty and in exile. He will serve as an example. Thanks for Resteeming @kafkanarchy84!

Yeah. I wish I had time to go thru the chat and list everything and show where it met his steemit/blockchain page... I coulda given you literal days worth of material. Glad he is toast

I am very thankful that this sort of abuse is stoppable. Thanks to everyone who helped!

It is stoppable and at lightening speed too. :)

I'm still looking at the increase of abuse as a sign platform popularity is still increasing!

"Looking at the bright side"
Good Observation :)

This post really deserves an applause @mehdibca. I have been following @kafkanarchy84 from Day 1 on Steem but I had really failed to notice this problem he was facing. Thank you for setting up a warning for people who use Steem the wrong way.

@kafkanarchy84 was put in an uncomfortable situation but he was able to manage it perfectly.
We should always stand against this type of abuse, cut it short as soon as possible and show solidarity to anyone who suffers any kind of abuse of this type on the platform.

Yes. True words. Will always look out for this type of abuse in the future.

Glad he is done on steemit. I led the frontlines to take him down but you guys finished. Thank you for that

Thank you @saywha for the support :)

And what hurts me is that he is from my country :(
I went through all the screenshots and read all of his comments, @kafkanarchy84 did right and we all should follow the same approach while dealing with these spammers!

Yes we should, I hope he serves as an example to other potential abusers. I am sure he does not represent your country in any form, you should not feel any sort of responsibility nor guilt. Steemit is a place where everyone is responsible for his own words and actions, also a place where people get together for the right causes that benefit the long term goals of our platform.

Does reputation affect anything? Or does it just show people if you have been flagged a lot?

I guess if your reputation is below 25 then we can assured that you have been flagged. I also believe that reputation affects the amount of damage a steemian can do through flagging. In this case @kafkanarchy had a better reputation than the Mars Cat Dude which made it easier for him to affect the abuser's reputation and send him for a one way trip to the Red Planet.

He was down to 0 the last time I looked. I am one of the people the man was harassing, stupid of him to use someone's name that anyone can see by search either of our blogs I have been on Graham's show. Can't believe he was stupid enough to think he wouldn't get caught. Thanks for the love and support, even though you don't know it, you supporting @kafkanarchy84 supports and defends us who was the target of his attack.

I am sorry to hear that you were part of the long list of his victims @tecnosgirl. Glad that the community was able to stand together and punish this kind of abuse. Surely, many steemians were hurt or at least bothered by his actions, but we can be proud of how fast the reaction came, of how the problem was handled in almost no time in all fairness.

this community rocks, I wrote my own little post about what is going on and linked your article here in it. Figured there was no need to repeat what you and Graham has already said, I linked his to it too.

Oh great I will check it out. Thank you!

good go ahead

ah! so good

Really interesting!

One thing that I'm not following is how it was determined that @bilalhaider was the culprit.

We don't have to worry about him for a while, now that his reputation is down to -1.

He is knocked out for a while, let's hope it lasts.

Awesome title to your post! Love all the comments too!

Thank you! :)
