Steemit is close for new members for now

Due to the sudden surge of new members. Steemit is currently closing its door for the new user. I feel so lucky I'm able to squeeze in before this. So is this a good or bad news?

      Cite a source? I believe this would be mentioned as a site-wide announcement, at the top of the page, when it is refreshed like other announcements?
