I joined Steemit because of this video. It's kind of confusing at first, but I really like the concept and clean layout of Steemit.

I agree with you, the big media companies think they are invulnerable and too big to fail. What they don't realize is that if they keep treating people the way they are, people will move away from them and once there is a valid alternative, they will never come back. Myspace is usually the example people use to show how a user base can suddenly shift.

Once trust is lost online, it is almost impossible to regain.
