I don't really get the point of the post. You could already comment and up-vote yourself right now. HF-19 doesn't have much to do with this, except maybe my vote will be worth 32 cents instead of 8 cents. I still think it's better used on the material of others, which will lead to them following and voting you back.

HF-19 does nothing to make it more game theory correct to vote on yourself than it would be now. The only difference is the amount of voting power held by small users, and whether you have to vote 40 times or 10 times for maximum effect.

To reiterate: the strategy is NO DIFFERENT, only the amount has changed.

What is the sudden obsession with voting for yourself? Why not be doing it already? If there's a justification other than "my vote will be worth more vests, so I will make more money" I'm not seeing it?

I'm pretty sure the curation value of upvoting a solid post will still exceed the value of going around upvoting yourself.

I can't imagine how everyone going around, voting on primarily themselves, will be good for the platform long-term. How can it?

Yes, but this will happen less often, so people will end up spending a lot more time in their own timelines upvoting their own posts and comments. I'm sticking with my 50/50 model of self upvoting / voting for others.

Have you always used this 50/50 model? If not, could you expand on why HF19 is relevant to changing it?

I'm not sure I see any evidence that curating posts "will happen less often", could you expand on that? Daily authorship is up 6x in the last 2 weeks, we could lose 5/6 of the authors and still have the post volume we had on 6/1.

Just curious for your rationale, been enjoying your videos, keep it up.

I use 80/20 right now but I have 40x 100% upvotes per day - after HF-19 I'll only have 10x 100% upvotes per day - so I'll upvote 5 good articles and probably upvote 5 of my own comments = Daily job done. Do something else for the rest of the day. Quick day eh!
