Hello Steemians!

Today i am going to present you the national drink of my country. Which is known as ouzo
(By the way just until a few minutes ago all my friends were at my place and we drunk a lot) so that's where the idea came from

Ouzo is an exclusive Greek product.
It is a dry anise aperitif and it is consumed very widely in Greece.

In order to produce ouzo we begin with distillation in coper stills of approximately 96% alcohol by volume recrifined spirit. Then we add anise and depending on the location of the product we use other flavorings too. But almost every type of ouzo in distinguished by cinnamon

And of course Lesvos island and especially Plomari is considered the homeland of ouzo.
Greeks started producing ouzo by greek families in the 19th century and until today it is produced with that tradinional way.

As of today Greece is exporting ouzo in more than 40 countries worldwide and especially in Germany.

To drink ouzo first and foremost you need good company and it is consumed usually with little snacks such as shellfish salads olives cheese etc.

If you ever travel to Lesvos you can also visit the Museum of ouzo with all the little detais you need to know about this amazing drink, which is located near Plomari.

ouzo connecting people and relaxes the mind

Until next time

Nice to meet you too.

No, do you believe 42 to be the meaning of life?

Oh how I love Greek restaurants, especially Ouzarias (except that they are for men only).

Hehe they are not for men only. It s just that ouzo is not a soft drink so most women don't like it. But those who do like it become fanatics

Yeah I think that times have changed as well. :)
