Steemit.com is now Open Source and available on github is that Good or Bad for us and steem?
I want to keep this as simple and as easy to understand for non tech peeps.
This basically means that anyone (Including you) can make a site similar to steemit, In fact just chaining the name and logo should be enough and people could earn money on that site the same way you do here. It might sound wrong to you at first, but it's not.
More sites like steemit exploring the blockchain > more users > higher demand for steem > steem value goes up > everyone rages(positive)
Remember. Bitcoin did the same thing and amazing things happened to those holding bitcoin. But one thing differs bitcoin from steem the most and that is, Bitcoin isn't accessible as steemit, so you can expect far GREATER things to happen to steemit!
You know who will benefit the most from this? Whales! They have the biggest amount of vests stored, once steem sky rockets the Whales will sky rocket as well and end up 35.000 Km above earth in space they will be filled with joy and happiness!!!
Open source is good. Now people can help find exploits in the code.

It gives those of us with silence a voice to write out... As for me I think Ralph bellamy said it best when he said " If I can't get the girl at least get me more money. haha.

I think it will, but at first at the non visible level in fixing bugs and improving site stability after that we should see the follow button to work and many more things to happen. This enabled a "speed up" of the development of the site and finally leaving the beta. At least that's what I think about Steemit going open source...
