There are a lot of people recently that have been coming to steem with the hopes of making the front page and making it rain. However, many of you might have noticed that thousands of posts just get a few upvotes and then are lost amongst the sea of other content. So how does one reach the front page ?? I will be sharing a few tips and spices that i think are an essential part of a successful Steemit post.
For those of us who have prior SEO experience, we know the saying "Content is king". It may seem a bit cliche, however content is a powerful tool in all aspects of capturing an individual towards what you have to say or your idea. With great content you can not only impact your readers but its gives you an opportunity to grow and express your ideas to a broader audience as more people will be reading your content. So what does it take to make a great post that will not only get you a ton of up votes but also captivate your readers?
1. Title
The first thing the readers sees when he enters steemit, reddit or any other blog is the the tittle. Your title is not the only thing the reader sees, but rather there are multiple titles. Thus your title must stand out and force the reader to chose yours out of all the others.
So how will this happen ?
- Make it Funny: A joke always creates a dopamine rush and makes the reader give their attention towards the post.
- Persuasive language: Select words that will get the jist of your article right away.
- Add value: Give your audience a reason to read your post.
2. Your blog should be authentic and have a personal touch
Why do we always pay attention to stories our friends tell us , but rarely pay attention to strangers? Its because we share a human connection. When we make post online, often we lack the person connection that we get from interacting in person. Whenever people see a post they can relate to, they will get behind you and follow your posts. Similarly , you guys are reading my posts because you want to understand how to get to the front page. You must be honest and share your story.
3. Include relevant images.
No one wants to read the big blog of text without images. However don't put random images without any context. Google Images or pixelbay will help you find thousands of relevant images that you can anchor with your wall of text.
4. Have a target audience
Don't make a post without having an audience in mind. This is very important in regards to step number 2. If you don't have a target audience you can not create a personal touch. And if you don't have a personal touch to your content, will be impossible to have anyone read your content. To address this aspect, research the community and then figure out who your audience is. This will also help you create a title that will captivate your audience and thus very important with step 1 as well.
5. Be Open to Discussion.
Why are AMA post or forums so successful ? It's because it encourages the individual to share their opinions and the ideas regarding the topic of your article. Reading and Writing are both social acts which encourages communication. However, if your article is very narrow and focuses on only side of the story with a lot of bias, it will result in either down votes or people ignoring the posts. Thus a good article will promote discussion and enlighten the whole community.
