Steemit Has Rekindled My Hopes

Lately, It feels like American culture has shied away from generosity and, in some cases, completely abandoned it. The only organizations that receive generous subsidies are giant corporations, and with those subsidies, they are able to thrive. I understand that these subsidies are sometimes necessary to safeguard our economy, but you'll never see this kind of assistance(subsidies) given to the common man, to men and women who are willing to work hard and start from scratch.

About a year ago, I decided to work 65 hour work weeks to get ahead, but even that wasn't enough to finance my dreams. I abstained from unnecessary spending and consciously refrained from overusing utilities. I only used electricity when it was absolutely necessary, and every time I did laundry, I made sure not to use more water than needed. With all these efforts, I barely saved any money. It seems like the only way I could ever achieve my dreams is if I received some help. And that didn't seem likely living under an economy where the rich are given a massive head start.

Luckily, capitalism has given rise to Steemit. And my worries of not achieving my dreams continues to abate the more I think about Steemit and blockchain technology.

Not only does it provide us, the common man, with economic opportunities, it provides us with an uncensored market place of ideas. Here we can share information, skills, and funds all over the world without fear of centralized intrusion and corporate power. I'm excited to see where this innovative, decentralized platform will take us.

I've tried to "pull myself up by the bootstraps" before I learned about blockchain technology, but maybe my key to success lies within the Steemit community. Maybe here I'll create long lasting, professional relationships, gather some resources, and create content that hundreds of thousands of people will enjoy. No matter what happens, I will appreciate anyone who supports me and anything that helps me actualize my dreams.

This platform will allow me to give hope to others while others give hope to me. I've endured some rough times throughout my life and so have many of you, but I think Steemit's blockchain-based reward system will give power to the common man.
