I don't vote for trending articles unless I actually like them. Chances are that others will also like them if I like them because my interests shouldn't deviate to much from the median. Your strategy only works if everyone just upvoted trending articles.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam
