Steemit is like the real world; Top 10 get's richer :(

Tough steemit is a great concept, it's only made to make the richest more rich.

I've seen a ton of high quality posts pass by in the new section, but yet the only peeps getting a big payout are the same peeps.

It seems to be more important who you know, than what you post.

Just my two cents...

Authors get paid when people like you upvote their post.

I hear you. Not even an upvote to make this debate trending.

Fact.

Do you comment and get involved on those posts though that you say are overlooked? I've really tried commenting on more of the lesser read posts as I think that the poster will feel like that are actually writing for a purpose.

I'm trying to be involved whenever i see good quality posts instead of weed and boobs.
Today's userbase is still low, yet the platform is already turning this direction.

Yes there is a lot of that I've noticed too.

I guess it's up to the users not to follow the herd but to read new posts as well

Steemit is a part of the real world, those who think it is a fairytale may be greatly disappointed.

It defeats the purpose of 'social' platform for 'everyone'.

Everyone can participate. Not everyone will get rich. The rules are the same as everywhere: be faster, be smarter, or cheat.

well see steemit as a new form of social media, one that actually pays you if you make quality content.

That's the problem right now. Quality content get's ignored while whale posts are getting worshipped.
Sheep mentality.

but the posts that are trending are quality post too, its like the frontpage of reddit, not everyone is going to trend unless people votes on them
