What's To Become Of Steemit?

I love Steemit! However, I believe it has only been a great testing ground. I'm not sure of the developer's intentions, but they don't seem to be responsive to demand and seem to be onto other projects. The whales continue to grow, while others fight for the scraps.

The problem is Steemit's award system was based upon one's current monetary level, much like the capitalistic world in which we live. If one is lucky enough to have been born in the right place at the right time, one becomes a "whale."

In Steemit the value of one's vote is based upon how much money is in one's account, regardless of actual participation on the site. Most whales have bots which vote for the same people over and over, and which gives the largest portions of the awards to the same circle of people over and over. Everyone else is just out of luck.

A new person earning enough to become a whale is just not in the algorithm. However, buying one's way to whale-dom is not only possible, but is heartily awarded.

Additionally, many have bots to curate for them. Between the voting and curating bots, actual social participation and content creation is not necessary to make money! What's wrong with this picture!?!

A new SOCIAL media platform is in the process of being created – it doesn't even have a name yet. This platform, built upon a new, scalable, ultraledger fabric blockchain, will offer awards based upon MERIT and PARTICIPATION!

EVERY VOTE WILL BE WORTH THE SAME AMOUNT regardless of how much money one has earned. The more one has earned recently (not in total), and the more one participates, the higher the number of votes one can give!

The proposal is that Voting Bots will not be allowed. A bot to scan for plagiarism and such will be incorporated, but we propose all votes should be organic; an article cannot be voted upon without being viewed (and hopefully, truly read).

This social media site is part of a broad digital economy called VIVA.

VIVA is a three-tiered stable digital economy which proved its stability during this past Bitcoin slide. Not only did VIVA maintain it's value, but it even gained a little while everything else was spiriling down with Bitcoin. To learn more, go to https://vivaco.in and https://blog.vivaco.in .

I am part of a small panel of people working toward the development of the user interface and features portion of the program. I want to help build a better social media site. What kinds of features would you like to see in a social media platform? What do you like about Steemit and what do you not like?

I would really like to hear your thoughts and perhaps incorporate them into the new site. If you would like to participate in the VIVAconomy and the development of this new social media platform, please contact me at [email protected].

RichQ11, you are already on my list of people to ensure a notification when this site is operational and offering awards. =-)

We hope to have it up and running this next year. I look forward to your comments.

I'm so there! I'd love to see an interface (probably the wrong word) that allows collaborative editing and publishing (like for my book) also a marketing mechanism where users can tap into a market outside the platform. That's all I can think of at the moment (I've been up since 3:00 working on the disclaimer for the book, a thank you and my prologue for NG III)
