Thinking About Uploading Vlogs On YouTube Again.

Steem needs as much exposure as possible!!

Back when I mainly used YouTube to upload vlogs it was pretty fun. The audience over there is a tad bit different than the ones here. There are way more trolls there and I have encountered a couple. One thing I remember is being the reason some people started using Steem. The same goes for Facebook and all the other social media sites.

Yesterday we hit a million accounts and it's time we start acting like it. Sure those aren't all individual accounts but bots are just part of the internet landscape. If Facebook can't avoid them why would we be any different.

I can see us reaching the fabled one billion accounts one day. Lots of things will have to change if that's ever going to be possible. For starters the sign up process needs to be instant. I see that the team is hard at work and they have actually allowed a paid option for sign up. That's good but most new users will run away at the sight of having to pay for an account. There are just too many scams online these days and you can never be careful.

Which is why I want to start posting videos on YouTube again documenting my Steemit journey. So that other people can see that the water is warm here in the Steem ocean. A YouTube video is what brought me here so I'm sure we can do the same for others!!!!

With the corporate elite banning any crypto related ads on the popular social sites spreading Steem isn't as easy. As a whole the crypto community doesn't have the best reputation. People think we are just a bunch of scamming drug dealing terrorists. That couldn't be farther from the truth. The crypto community is filled with highly intelligent people who have dedicated their lives to bring blockchain tech to the world. Sure getting rich might be the byproduct but most of them really wanna change the world. Taking aways the power from big banks and returning it to the everyday people like you and me.

I don't know how close we are to reaching mainstream adoption. I do know that today there is more Blockchain awareness then there has ever been. Counts for something right?

You should.

Sure those aren't all individual accounts but bots are just part of the internet landscape.

For sure, it just is what it is, saying there's X amount of accounts just includes the idea that some are bots. (If bots weren't a thing, we'd just be used to the idea of 500K accounts being more meaningful.)

For starters the sign up process needs to be instant. I see that the team os hard at work and they have actually allowed a paid option for sign up. That's good but most new users will run away at the sight of having to pay for an account.

Def.

I wonder if I'd recommend Steem to people more often if it wasn't for this.

I don't want to have to deal with "..oh I'm on a waiting list" etc etc confusion and keep ensuring them it will all workout. Like I still do sometimes but I'm sure I'd try to fire people up more if they could just sign up, boom.

I don't know how all the coding and whatnot works, but I wonder if there's a way where they can have an "account" but it doesn't interact with the blockchain yet. Like here they are, and they start interacting with the steemit.com website, and then when the account is approved they can actually impact the blockchain and get rewards.

I dunno. I don't know if that would even be better or just more chaotic.

I completely agree with you on this. I am the same; I was brought here to Steemit after watching a YouTube video, @AVILSD's one to be exact, and think that although we as Steemians wish to help the site and the blockchain grow, we are not yet at the stage where we can abandon advertising Steem on other platforms completely. I mean, to be honest I found you on YouTube first, and only then have I began to follow you on here.

Perhaps doing a video here on some day and there on another, mixing it up a bit, is the way to go. I do not know. The best way is to experiment and see what works best for you and for the community here on Steemit. Either way, you have my full on support!

**As a side note, I have spotted a spelling mistake in the sentence 'I see that the team os hard at work ...' I believe the word 'os' should have been 'is'. Anyway, I wish you the best of luck and hope you decide to return to YouTube and work your magic there. 2,000,000 by the end of 2018? I think that can easily be achieved, but a lot of work has to be done, no doubt.

Peace!

You are very cool. I like you

I came across you on YouTube

Honestly not a bad idea at all. Agree with your points as well, there are bots on all platforms regardless.

I agree I came over here via youtube

I think it's an excellent idea! The community of Steemit has grown enough so using YouTube to help you could speed up your work here and there getting more followers!

Oh totally go for it. Your vlog style should be able to reach many viewers. Whenever I can and whenever it's more or less relevant, I talk about Steemit on my channel or on my website. I link to posts I write on wordpress to bring people here if I can. While on Fb it doesn't get much attention, I find that on Twitter and YouTUbe people are more responsive and interested. People are looking for alternatives and they don't know where to look. With videos like your vlogs for example available for them, they get the answer they sought.

You should totally do it! ;)
