12 long months!!!!
Feels like it was just yesterday when I first started here. I remember how excited I got when I made my first .50 cents!!!! I only regret not making the dive much sooner.
You see I had heard about Steemit much earlier. I watched a couple people speaking about this magical place where you earned money via posting. In my mind I was like yeah right!!!! As soon as I went in to the comment section it was full of people screaming that this was another scam. As some of you may know scams are not a new thing to crypto. They've been around since forever.
So in my ignorance I didn't bother to look it up. I didn't possess any of the knowledge about blockchain that I do now. I didn't even know how to do proper research on a coin. Fast forward to May of last year and I signed up for an account. Before then my interaction with crypto was purely through youtube videos.
I had an account on Poloniex and stalked the troll box like the newb I was. I made a couple successful trades but nothing to get crazy about. So when I made my decision to join Steemit I traded whatever coins I had at the time for some Steem. When my account finally got approved I sent over about 40 Steem. At the time Steem was a dollar something. Instantly I was sucked into a brand new world.
I made an intro post and made a couple bucks on it. I was like a kid in a candy store. I was completely blown away by the fact that something like this existed. People search far and wide for a way to make a little extra money online. I know, I was one of those people. I had a pretty good job but I hated it with every cell in my body. I couldn't see myself working there. But when bills are due the money has to always be there. Hence why I stood there. I tried so many different things with little to know success. I was determined but not really focused like I should have been. I was looking in all the wrong places. Until my journey finally led me here. Life hasn't been the same ever since. I've met a lot of interesting people here and learned tons of valuable info.
In the year that I've been here I've been part a multiple projects. Including @fivestargroup @primetimesports (currently taking a break) and our very own witness @block-buster!!!! Currently ranked #90 on the witness list.
@FiveStarGroup
Me and some fellow Steemers like @youngogmarqs and @rest100 decided to come together and form a Record Label here on Steemit. It's a very ambitious project but that won't stop us from trying to reach our goals. The music industry is full of sharks feeding on any artists they can. Here we can build up to be able to support artists in ways not possible before. We grew nicely with the support of several Steemers. But in order to be able to support artists the way we want to we needed to have a much bigger stake.
@Block-Buster Witness is born!!!!!
At this time I was earning some good rewards via posting here on Steemit. So after many chats with my now business partner @bitcoinpadise I decided it was time to become a witness. He would run the witness server and keep things updated and I would cover the server cost. Together we have come a long way. With a long way yet to go the future looks bright. The plan is to be able to support as many artists as we can on here. In a future where Steem is more than 10 dollars SteemPower will be a hot commodity. Now imagine if the price went to 20 bucks.
Don't forget to vote for the @block-buster witness!!!!
Looking forward to another year.
I feel good at all the milestones I've hit since I've been here. Things have been changing lately and growth is starting to really kick in. Steemit Inc just released a post stating HF20 was really close along with the coveted SMT'S. That's good news since EOS is scheduled to launch next month which is in seven days from now. It's a race against the clock and the heat will be turned all the way up. I'm pretty confident that we will survive here far longer than our critics think. I'm sure EOS will be great but it ain't here yet Steem is. We shall see what the cards have in store for us but for now it's all pure speculation.
I want to thank everyone that has ever watched a video or read a post I put out. I greatly appreciate the many upvotes comments resteems and follows I have received all year. You guys literally make it all possible.
One thing I learned in this past year is that you never know what the next day holds. There are some great people on here that have really made an impression on me. So if you feel like things are not going good for you all I can say is keep your mind in the game. Stay focus and positive and remember consistency always wins around here.

Congrats on your 1 year Steemaversary! My one year anniversary is quickly approaching, and like you in the beginning I was very skeptical. But one of the reasons I took the plunge and created an account is because of you! I came across on of your Youtube videos talking about Steemit. I cannot recall which one, but you were driving around, talking about Steemit and getting Timmies and as a Canadian girl that got my attention. Anyhoo...I've been a long time lurker and occassional upvoter of your posts and I just wanted to say thanks and congrats once again. :)

Congrats on your first year on Steemit. I feel you on finding outlets like this. Im a full time producer/engineer myself. Being independent you deal with many adversities. Having something like steem can gain you traction and help build a budget.

Congratulations on reaching your first year at Steemit! I like the idea of the project you have in mind, helping others to grow is a nice gesture, if there were more people with that kind of thinking everything would be different, I hope that project inspire others to do the same not only in the musical part , but also in art, photography, games, among others

Congratulations on your anniversary, these are some really useful reflections on your time here and good advice on @Dtube etc. (I personally avoid it because of its dysfunctionality, in that most of the videos I try and watch just don't load, but I may review that on what you say here.)
Thanks for the upvote on my steem bluepaper post... it might just be the case that the competition from the EOS launch prompts steem to improve even further.
I might just give you a witness vote, I've got a few spots free still.
Well met,
Karl.
