I guess people want to make easy quick bucks by posting random stuff.
However there are few hidden gems as well who are contributing quality work too..

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

    if virtually anyone can post it is kind of normal to get poor quality posts but personally it bothers me that poor quality posts get it into trending top and so on..
    it seems that it is a structural problem...
