As for the curation issue - it's Steemit's strength and weakness all rolled into one. In a way it is creating a false economy. Perhaps this is while the site find's its audience.
I recently wrote and published a novel here, and it was receiving between 100 and 200 votes on average for each upload. Yet there would have been about only 10% of those who actually read it. It's not a complaint, just an observation.

Thanks for your kind words and interesting observation. Indeed, even now that we have posted part 1 to this documentary and have over 200 upvotes in the last 5 hours, only 4 people have actually watched the film! So, all one can do is keep building the following of those who are genuinely interested in our work. Our goal is not the money but to share the information with as many people as possible, so it can be a little frustrating... but we get there!
