About two months into Ghana recording its first corona virus case, Ghana currently has over 5638 recorded cases with 28 deaths and 1460 recoveries. Approximately a month ago the President of Ghana, His Excellency Akuffo Addo announced the lift of the lock down on the hotspot regions that is Greater Kumasi and Greater Accra Region and although all other measures are still in force, boarders are still closed, social gathering is still banned for people more than 25 with strict enforcement of nose masks, Kumasi city folks seem to have taken the lift of the lock down to mean that all is well and that probably the virus has been handled.

A Quick stroll through town revealed people went about their daily activities somethings to the neglect of wearing nose masks and abiding by the social distancing rules. I am of the belief that the population are probably not up to date with the current trend of events and that could explain the reason for their actions. Others also believe that the way the government is handling the case could be the reason why this is happening. Whichever the case may be, i hope a lot is done about enforcing the protocols in place to prevent the worst from happening in possibly the nearest future.
