Wedding... Why I can't stand buying a bridesmaids dress! Rather spend $200 on Steem!

This is the bridesmaids dress that I was supposed to buy this weekend!

Who in the world wants to buy a $200 bridesmaids dress! The polyester is soaked in formaldehyde (which is toxic to our bodies!), among other added toxins! Not to mention... only wearing it once! Though it seems most bridesmaid dresses are hideous in the first place! This seems like an utter waste of my hard earned money. Plus, there is WAY more child labor & dirt cheap wages in the world than people realize. Then big conglomerates selling them!

I sure as hell don't want to support ANY company that employs young children that should really be out learning, growing, and having fun!

Too much money is wasted on materialistic, arbitrary items. Especially weddings, how many of those items are going to be used again!? More than likely... none! The average wedding costs near $30,000. How about all that stress the brides go through & put the grooms through because of the cost, etc.? Seems like a waste of money to me!
What if instead you invested that $30,000 on crypto... you could turn around and have a $300,000+ wedding in the future! Whats not to like!

I would much rather spend my time & money on crypto. Especially since its what can make you money, not wasting money!

If I was getting married, I personally would opt for a relaxing, fun, exclusive wedding. Not one where you pay for stupid shit you won't ever use more than once. Nor pay for people you dont know/like to come.
No thank you! I'll pass!

Rant over,

My husband and I ran away to get married. I started planning a wedding and my mom became all bridezilla and she was not even getting married! So we went to a place that allowed up to twenty guests, I let my bridesmaid pick her own dress so that she would wear it more than once, and we had our reception at a pizza joint. It was the best decision we ever made! I never saw it as fair that you choose your bridesmaid and then you make her wear whatever. Pick a color and let them pick their own dress. But maybe I was just a lax bride.
