A Portland Meet-up!!
This meet-up has been about 6 months in the making and I'm pleased to say it's on the calendar. Thank you @nickh725 and @doctorcyrpto.

Connecting face-to-face is makes this platform even more meaningful, so I'm really looking forward to this. So far it's the 3 of us plus @emilyrose, @greyhawk and I'm hoping some friends who I gave a brief steemit orientation to on Saturday will also join.
@haphazard-hstead and @alexbeyman are you local? @crystalize and @reddragonfly any chance you are willing and able to come down from the Seattle area? I know it's a long trip but consider it anyway.
Please spread this news around, I'm fairly sure there are many more of us here in the Willamette Valley!
RSVP in the comments if you will come so that I know how large a table to grab. Partners, friends, those mildly interested in Steemit are all welcome.

I hope this goes well for you. I'm jealous as it would be lovely to do a meetup. I saw you were going to be in NYC which is sort of in 'my neck of the woods' well a 4 hour car drive. Too bad you aren't doing a meet up in Boston.
I hope all who attend have a wonderful time and looking forward to more posts of your work process in the future. I think of you every day that I am considering my little print studio set up this Summer, your studio post really lit a fire. :)

Consider initiating a meet-up in Boston or wherever is close to you, it's as easy as meeting people for coffee! I'm here in NY and just met up with a few steemians, it's something I wish I could do more regularly....some really great people here on the platform!

No, not coming, probably, but would love to but probably can't get out that far. Kind of busy and stuff. I'm a few hours away, an hour from Seattle or so. I am kind of here helping out my mom and I am kind of on-call with that. And I don't really have a job either. So, I kind of have to prioritize my time and stuff. I'm kind of in a transition in my life and I'm trying to figure out a lot of things about where I want to live and work and everything.
My mom does not seem to really think Steem or Bitcoin has a lot of potential. She listens to people say it is all a bubble and stuff and I have talked to her a lot about it all. So, she doesn't really want me to waste too much time on things that are too risky or whatever. I talked my mom into joining maybe email in 1999 or so and then Facebook in 2007 or so and now I am trying to get her on Steem and maybe someday but not yet it seems.
In regards to Steem Meets, going is good for networking, for making friends, customers, contacts, memories, etc. So, I see the value in Steem Meets.

What?!?!? This is awesome. I’m filming some videos for a campaign I’m running for a theatre on Saturday or else I would definitely want to go to this (I live in Seattle). Are there going to be more? My bf is also very into steemit so both of us would probably be into coming to one of these. :)

I SO wish you and your bf could come, I would really really love to meet you in person!! This is the first one here but we'll have to do more. I tried to set one up in Seattle last fall but just coudn't get enough momentum to warrant a trip up there. I am completely willing however to come up for one in Seattle. Let's set one up for next month or something! Pick a few dates that work for you and let me know. Then we can put together posts and make it happen.

Oh, I’d be into that. Last weekend of March or first weekend of April are looking pretty good! I get the sense there are quite a few PNW’ers on steemit, it would be cool to gather them even more. Any other peops I should definitely be on the lookout for?
P.S. I have a lot of friends down in PDX (I went to college at University of Portland) so I never mind an excuse to visit folks. :)

Yes, last year I met up with some steemians in new york and it was so powerful to meet face to face with people I'd known on the platform. Really made what we're doing here come alive for me.

For those who do not know, Free Geek Computers is a place I used to volunteer at in PDX for some years since 2007 where I learned how to build computers. We learned about Linux, specifically Ubuntu operating systems (OS). I'm using Ubuntu Mate on my computer laptop right now. We learned a lot of things computer related and I volunteered there helping with recycling stuff and in building computers and they had great snacks there and great people I met there.
