Have to agree with @shemthepenman. Slightly over-rated at the moment. But I guess we're probably transiting from stealth phase to awareness phase now. So, I believe the price at the moment may no longer be classed 'over-priced' in future. I've faith in this.

Isn't the currency being doubled each year a problem for growth itself ? Or I am not thinking right.

The math isn't 100% clear to me either, but the whitepaper says there is a 3.5yr cycle that resets Steem 1:10.

It depends. Have you read the whitepaper, do you know where to find it? It is in the menu, in the upper right hand corner, third link from the top.
It will work like this: today, you have 10.40 Steem. Tomorrow, you have 1.04 Steem. And everyone else too.
