Preparing for life on the road as a traveling programmer! Help buy my gas ;)steemCreated with Sketch.

It's official; I am going to be working remotely and promoting Steem while traveling across the United States

I am the proud owner of a 2001 Shasta Flyte fifthwheel trailer.

The awning on the side, and the slide out are going to make for some nice relaxing and spreading out. Also, there is plenty of real estate for my solar panel system that will be getting installed over the next couple weeks.

Of course I am going to change the sleeper couch's fabric. May also get around to tearing up the carpet in favor for linoleum or some water resistant laminate. The table of the right will primarily serve as my work desk.

The kitchen area is actually pretty nice, with a full sized refrigerator, freezer and stove. Unit comes complete with 50 gallons of potable water storage and 100 gallons of grey/sewage storage. Paired with solar, I should be able to boondock for 2-3 weeks at a time without needing resources for the trailer.

I am going to get a decal designed eventually so I can properly show off Steem while traveling the country. Keep an eye on my future blogs as I will be documenting my travels as I go from state to state working as a blockchain developer and meeting new people interested in cryptocurrency.

Will you be following along?

Let me know in the comments. I am hoping to buy a nice camera to take HD pictures along the way. Colorado will be my first destination.

Good luck!!

You can also take all the time you need and instead of buying gas, you'll just start pulling your trailer across the US. It's slower, but I can promise you it'll make a really interesting Steemit post series and you'll be amazingly fit when you are finished.

People are more likely to listen to you if you'll have a well built muscular body.

Good luck with the trip!

This idea is cool:-) I will definitely follow your travel, this is exciting, I think freedom is the first word that shows up in my head when I read this post. Good luck on your journey!

Inside view perfectly looks like a luxury hotel.

i gotchu with my penny upvote

Enjoy the road man! Upvoted. Smoke that shit in CO!

You've got a true talent.

Way to live a dream! Let me know if you have some questions about the solar setup, I have been free sun energy crypto mining for 6 months now with some experience turning all my hardware into 12 volt dc! Btw, you can get green AstroTurf style grass(they even have shaggy style) for the inside and even install it your self - its easy

I was recommended the AstroTurf green before as well. Might have to check it out since my dog will be with me. How do you clean it?

As far as solar, I'm thinking of about 4-6 on the roof in a slight angle feeding to a series of 6V deep cycle golf cart batteries. Tesla sells a better battery that looks like a sleek fuse box but I've been hearing great success from the golf cart setup.

I don't have the energy usage ratings of the appliances on hand but I would like to be able to run the A/C or heater and fridge/freezer nonstop. Something like a 15-18 hour reserve.

Astro turf cleans super easy! You can clean with a garden hose if you want or if you don't want to get everything wet then just vacuum it and once in a while when it gets really dirty shampoo it like a regular carpet.

Slight angle does not work well for aerodynamics on trailers - its always recommend to go flat, unless you hinge them down on one side and create prop bars on the other to prop up when not moving.

Dump the idea of 6volt! its not necessary for your application. 12volt deep cycle batteries will do just fine! Convert everything to 12volt dc, throw away the ac/dc inverter, they just waste energy and create heat! You probably only need two 150amp cells anyway unless you are planning running an induction cooktop instead of a propane(I recommend propane - a little lasts sooo long) I also recommend a propane fridge costs a little more, but worth it. Heating I would cut out a hole in the top of your camper and install a little wood burning fireplace and if your in the cities than use propane heat. With panels, the power output will simply not be enough to heat you when its cold. For cooling - Try to park in the shade and if you are in death valley then your panels may be enough in the day time to give you ac for most of the day. If you are trying to go ultra green than you can make your own Hydrogen from water with your panels as you drive, but thats another topic..

Yeah looks like I will be using my propane a bit more than I thought. But seems like 60Gallons will last me a bit.

Going to definitely buy some electric fans and whatnot. If it gets extremely hot I will likely not boondock during that time.

Seems like shade parking is the best idea. So if I get a solar panel setup, I might get a few for the roof and a few as a remote array. My brother is certified to sell/install this stuff just have to get him involved.

You can always also get a small 500 watt wind turbine with a 5 meter mast/ cable stays attached in strategic places on the trailer you could have it erected single handedly in less than a few minutes. There are a few of them coming out of China now that produce about a watt per dollar spent(300 watts for 300 Us dollars)

I don't know how wind didn't even cross my mind.

I'm seeing some good prices for larger amounts of energy going that route. Low wind and Ultra low wind setups or even hybrid solar/wind.

You could even get a couple small dc 100 watt permanent magnet inline duct fans mounted on the roof of the camper to charge the system while you drive this way you don't have to rely on your cars alternator to charge the system. They look cool too like jet engines mounted on your roof

Toss me a DM or some other sort of message when you are going to be in SLC.

Hell yeah. Rock on

Whenever you post next I would be interested in learn some of the different ways that you promote steemit

On the road, it will likely be talking about it over campfire or long hikes with random people I come across along the way!

As of right now, I am actively working as a programmer with Steem based technology and promoting Steem thru my blog, my Witness campaign, and my work.

Haha no way! This has got to be the best thing Ive read this evening :D I would love to do this... all I would need to do is convince the ol lady hehe!! look forward to seeing more of this awesomeness pal!!!

Ok good luck

I hope the best in your adventure!

Defiantly following along steem on brother and take your skateboard as well (we spoke about this in a chat once)

Have a great day!

Happy trails! Looks comfortable enough, but where's the bed?

Up the stairs past the table and bathroom. Its a queen mattress.

Pictures! Pictures! Lol. Just messing with you.

@netuoso..This is a creative idea and supported with luxurious facilities..good job

Awesome. You're living my dream :).
Now I can pretend to be your parent and "live my life through you" as most parents do :D.

What car do you have?
For this monster you surely need something to pull it. Horse won;t be enough. You need more horsed under the hood :D. Did you have it before or did you buy it, too?

How long are you planning on doing this?

Do you have a full-time job as a block chain developer? In what space?

Had my puller already. 2011 Dodge Ram 2Wx4D Crew Cab with a Hemi. Full trailer brake control system. Brand new brakes and solid tires.

I already work freelance and with BuildTeam. When I'm on the road, documenting and blogging will be a full time job too.

I wish you all the best, and a safe journey 👍.
Good luck ☺

hey, we are gonna be doing the same for europe! good for you man! :)

Sounds awesome and looking forward to the pictures. Hope our few cents help :)

Hahahaha yeah man!!! Really cool! 100% up

What a great idea, looking forward to seeing how you get on !

What an awesome idea @netuoso and what an inviting setup you have there. How will you be earning by programming on the go? Do you have existing employment outside of your steem work or is this self funded? How novel!

Enjoy your trip! I look forward to your posts on the road.
