Starting off in this the tenth issue, a very special issue, I would like to give a big shout out to all the supporters of Poker Today. It is amazing the community that has been built starting with the SPL league. So I will definitely give some thanks to you all, or as many as I can. Some big announcements for Poker Today in this issue. The first is that Poker Today is now Ran by Team Epic and we are adding the Amazing @bethalea to the writing team, and second Poker Today is combining with the Community Casino project. And last but DEFINITELY not least and as usual we will be listing some news, poker schedules and related posts here.

Poker Today is successful only because of the hard work and energy that a special few people have put into the poker community. First of these - and I cannot express how much respect he has earned and deserves - is @tuck-fheman. He put this community together with some help but mostly it wouldn’t be possible without him. Remembering way way back in time (just over 2 months) and how he started this and how interested I became. Then when I went to play on PlayStation4 I couldn’t get in. I am still not sure to this day if they ever were successful in getting a game there with Prominence Poker on PS4. But either way his perseverance, investment in time and money and straight determination has made this poker community what it is. So above all this shout-out is dedicated to you. So self-less its almost creepy :). We must not forget his twin/best pal/crimie or whatever you want to call @bigpchef. His contributions are endless and invaluable. There are many people who contribute to @SPL as well and I’ll list a couple. Sorry if I don’t mention you but I promise you are special to me and Team Epic none the less. The short list includes @internetguy, @fivefiveeleven and everyone who participates and plays with @spl. Cannot forget @chiefmappster and @bethalea. Saved Beth for last. I mean best!

Welcome @bethalea

While Beth is not new to Team Epic, nor new to being Epic, she is new to the Poker Today writing family. So as part of this Beth will now be helping support Community Casino Poker Tournaments on Lucksacks.com (Formally Thursday League). We have some big news coming to SteemIt and beyond and it will get pretty Epic soon, if its not already. Keep an eye out for her first post around Thursday. As introduced by @chiefmappster, Team Epic is working of a new project. One of which could change the world. This Epic project is called Community Casino. Yes you guessed it, it’s a Casino. How did you know? You can keep an eye on @ccasino or @chiefmappster, @nicnas and @bethalea for more information and upcoming games. We are in the early stages of development and I cannot tell you everything but we are working on some really 1337 things. One of the most Epic aspects of this project is our mission. We want to give back. Whether it be on SteemIt or in the general community. Once we are making profits we will be giving 50% of our profits back to the community. Need I Say More? Well I will. We will be introducing some SteemIt Casino games to start but plan on opening up a casino based site at some point. We even have our eyes on Vegas and Vegas is looking back no doubt. While this may seem like a stretch don’t count us out just yet. We have some connections in the industry and we are working on building more. Networking FTW! This is for real. Community Casino Poker on SteemIt

We understand there are many reasons some people are not playing poker on Lucksacks.com. We don’t hate and we are planning on appreciating. Coming soon, the plan is to start it off in the next few days, will be a SteemIt based poker game. This will allow people who do not have hours at a time to play or who do not know how to play an opportunity to join in on the fun and a chance to win some crypto. Also each round open for around 24 hours. The game will consist players commenting on and upvoting the post. Players will be required to upvote each round of game play to be eligible to win. Players will be dealt two hole cards (publicly) in response to their comment requesting to play. Second round/post will include the Flop (First three community cards), the Turn (Fourth Card), and theRiver (Fifth and last card) and this will be where the winner will be announced. Prizes will include 50% of SBD earned through the 4 rounds. Side bets will be allowed between players. You are welcome to use our Team Epic / Community Casino Discord channel to do so and also to discuss the game and future of CC. It will be a requirement for players to comment on each post/round and upvote. This will keep you actively playing.

• An amazing piece that brought forth an epic discussion on the SteemIT API’s written by @tuck-fheman a couple days ago. Check it out here. The issue that is brough to light is the fact that after over a year of SteemIt there still is not a solid guide to working with the API’s. The idea that the head honchos wouldn’t want developers to be able to expand and grow SteemIt bewilders many. With my attempts to work it out and getting stuck on Transactions I feel that this is a solid topic that needs a resolution. If you are reading this and have a handle on either the JavaScript API or the python one and can tackle transactions, please get in touch with me.
