Tell me if I'm wrong here.

Steemit is a site for content creation. A place where the artist, writer, photographer, or blogger can be rewarded for the value they produce. And curators, as well, can be paid for discovering gems.

We all know and hate the plagiarizer, the one who passes off someone else's work as their own. But what about the person who shares the work of another artist and profits from it? It may be sourced, but what value has been added?

Someone sharing photographs they did not take and only writing a lazy statement about how amazing they are...
To me, this belongs on sites like Facebook or Reddit. Not Here.

Now, if the poster were to critique the artwork, that is a different story. They are giving their perspective.

How does the Steemit community feel about this?

What is the value added?

I completely agree. Stock photos are free for use, and great to help break up your text. Writing articles here, for me at least, involves a ton of research, and editing. References, References, References! Especially if people are writing about #science topics, or talking about facts. It'd be awesome to see more reference links, and effort over all to give your article value beyond "trending".

Yeah, I think it's fine to place sourced photos in between paragraphs of an article you're writing. At least in that case, you are creating something. And yes, references for research writings should be a must have, wherever you are posting it. It's just good practice.

I'm still new here, but I believe that is indeed the future. It's not forever people will be able to make bank with the silly shit. still, like anywhere, it's all about who you know

Some will get money for bringing a following from elsewhere. Some will get money because they are cute. Sometimes it's down to luck. The things within our control, that's what we should focus on. But as a community, we can decide what sort of conduct is acceptable or not.

Totally agree and have started writing articles about it too !! Also i resteem the Steemcleaners reports , and upvote them as well....

Totally agree.
I'm very comfortable with my feelings on steemit, I trust many sources on here and everything is usually factual or atleast personally created.
But I do see it changing, especially with the over saturation of content. Serious issue in my eyes o.O

I do love Steemit and think there are many great content creators here. Maybe some of the new folks aren't getting a proper orientation of the site. I think it's important to understand how the community works and to respect the artwork of others.

beta. everything is still forming, and it's up to us.
