Why steemit cannot take place of the biggest social media networking sites|About Steemit|

While there are so many clearly stating that steemit is going to be a big big hit and is going to take the place of social media networking sites like facebook, etc, I would like to present to you my views regarding this subject. Also in this post I'll be talking about some of the dark sides of steemit and how a newbie is effected after tons of hard work that he/she puts in and gets (of course gets some upvotes and the money deserved) less as compared to what he/she may be deserving.
So, here to the topic... Is steemit going to be so high that it will take the place of the largest social media networking site? Is it really possible?

Here is what I think:
Steemit is definitely going to be a big hit in the upcoming years. (And why not, after all it pays you.) But that's not all, you earn by posting valuable information here (which most of the bloggers are doing on different platforms but they end up getting hardly noticed by anyone). Steemit going to be successful( definitely it will and the reason is already stated above) and steemit taking place of the biggest social networking sites are two different things.
First of all, steemit will never be able to "take place" of other sites. Here are the most important possible reasons:

  1. Social networking sites do nothing if you copy or paste anything from anywhere. People are free to do whatever they want. Of course they do not get paid.
  2. On other social networking sites, one can easily be expressive and talk about anything and everything. While in steemit, we have a pressure of increasing our followers and upvotes due to which we only think about posting some really valuable things for everyone.
  3. Newcomers on other sites are given equal weightage of course by equal weightage I mean, there is nothing like reputation or number of followers or even if there is, nobody pays attention to how many followers you have. But here on steemit, everybody is not equal and newbies have to work a lot to get successful here.

So, this is the thing that I was talking about, about the darkside of steemit. It's not always that you add value and you get paid. There are a lot of newcomers here who are working so hard, but they are not being noticed that much. Some if you might argue that this is the working of steemit and that it takes time for you to get known to people. And for people to follow you, you have to work hard. Yes, I truly agree with this. But the question is, how much time?
I really want the newcomers to kindly upvote and resteem this post if they think this is true. And also, if they're a victim to this.

I agree that you have to work very hard to get attention in steemit , but it's not only hard work but smart work. If you don't fully utilise the tools steemit has provided you can't certainly make the most of it. I'm currently learning how to improve my activities by learning how to incorporate steemit tools.

Yes, that's true. Making full use of the resources is really important. And I cannot agree more in this with you. Also, I would like to know what steemit tools are you talking about? Is it the editing tools and formatting tools that you're talking about, or just the tricks that how we can upload a video or gif in our posts. Can you share this with me?

The reason behind people or as you call them "newbies" not getting enough upvotes is, they follow the whales blindly. Here's what you need to understand. Let people like you for what you really are and not for what you pretend to be.
It's okay to be hated for what you are than to be praised for what you are not. The key is being "original". Be the best version of yourself. Share what you believe in. It could be just a one liner or a photo. Make it presentable enough. Give your best. And if people like you, they like you. If they don't, then remember the world doesn't end here. There are too many ways to be successful in life. Go and explore the world. Do what you believe in. Carpe Diem.

I truly agree with you @akshayb. What I mean to say is that people who are original need to be understood. They need to be noticed by people. And I cannot agree more to your mention of the key which is to be "original".
Yes, originality holds in itself everything. And thanks a lot for such a thoughtful comment.

The problem is a lot of people haven't discovered themselves yet and they think their work is under-rated. Well, then find ways to convince people otherwise. "Get busy living or get busy dying". Find ways to promote yourself and stop looking for excuses. If your work is good and you are consistent and dedicated, Success will come to you. Good things take time. Success doesn't come overnight. It might take weeks, months or even years. Most of the successful people in this world didn't discover themselves till they were 50. But what you need to learn from these people that they DID NOT GIVE UP. They did not give up on their dreams and goals. As I said earlier, Good things take time.

I love this article... I just started two weeks ago and I noticed I'm getting on Fb and Insta less and less everyday haha

Same is going with me. I'm using less of other social networking sites but yes, not completely left using it. So, it's like I spend more time of steemit and less on others. Now that I have priorities, I have to do this. :)

Nice post but I totally and respectfully disagree with you.. :)

Using myself as an example, i just got to my office and its 7:08am where I am. This is the first website i have opened today and not even my work email "shameonme"

Secondly, I wont regard my self as someone who writes or blogs but ever since i heard about steemit i've been exploring my "inner writing skills" (if that exist) / creativity. I am sure there are a lot of people who fall into my category here.. I feel like i can be who i am, write what i want and not have to deal with social pressure of people posting pictures of great vacations, cars or money which facebook and Instagram presents to us.
Lastly, I get paid to explore , research nice things to post and to be creative. #can'tbeatthat

I totally and respectfully agree to a part of what you say. Like you, I'm also checking my steemit account before Facebook and Instagram these days. But it cannot ever mean that steemit is going to take the place Facebook has in our minds. Or maybe it will before as successful as other sites or maybe even more that them, but Facebook is Facebook. It's going to be there no matter what. That's the whole point I wanted to discuss. :)
Thanks a lot for your valuable comment.

Guess we'll just have to see where it goes.

Yes, actually nobody can predict anything about a block chain based website like steemit. We'll just have to wait and see where it goes. That's all we can do. And yes, everything that has been written by me are my assumptions and what I think about steemit. I never said that it will not grow, it will.

steemit works and you just proved it by creating this content:))) happy steemiting:)

It works. Definitely, it does work. But the only thing which has been highlighted here is that it will grow more and more with passing time but not as a social media networking site but as steemit. It is a social networking Site of its own kind and will not take any other site's place
Happy steemin! :)

Facebook and other social media platforms make money by using your presence on their websites and pay you nothing. steemit is going to make a big change in the social media like the bitcoin did in the financial world imo :)

Yes, definitely. It's going to be the biggest change. As I mentioned, there are so many bloggers working really hard on other websites but end up getting hardly noticed. This community is something that pays you right from the begining. So yes, it is the new big hit.

Facebook is savage and eats up every thing in its wake. One only need look at the way it copied Snapchat and added all the features to Instagram...and then some. Also, businesses use FB, Instagram and Twitter to market to people. Social media is really just one big marketing fest. People tend to go to the platform which has the best interest for them, so yes people will come to Steemit, once they understand how it works and are not afraid of blockchain technology, but over all....I agree with you...Steemit will never be as big as FB unless it becomes like FB.

Thanks a lot for such a thoughtful comment. Adding on to what you said, I would like to say that FB sure is copying Snapchat but is still growing. FB is a very big community and taking its place is really very dangerous. Moreover, we cannot compare them. Facebook is Facebook and steemit is steemit.

Indeed It is very much a case of apples and pears :-)

True that. A big yes to what you're saying. Can't compare them with each other. Their paths are different. Entirely different.

I agree that Steem will not be as big as Facebook but it can get big enough with a few million users.

In the past many years, people have tried to create successful revenue sharing social networking sites but always failed.

Be it Buksia, Zuker, TSU all of these sites are closed now. Lets see how big Steem will get.

Steemit I would say is different, and will definitely rise in future. Ups and downs are a part of life. And, we really hope steemit makes it to the top. Also, the fact that you said that it will not get as big as Facebook, well I do agree with you and that's what my post is all about.
If you like the content, upvote and resteem.
Thankyou. :)
