Balance on Steemit in managing my account; A collection of all my posts in May

The month of May is almost over and the most felt step that I took was to delegate 3000SP to five Steemians, as I explained here and here.

Why did I do that? Why did I choose to give up a portion of my power on Steemit for people I don't really know, without any reward other than their gratitude? I even released them from the duty to resteem and upvote my posts. So why?

Here are few reasons for my act of delegation -

• I enjoy giving. Quite simply, when I give someone I feel good, a warmth tingles my inner organs. I am sure you feel that too. Giving, like taking, should be done in a balanced way. Some people think that the more they give the more the universe would reward them. This is a victim mentality. The universe is not intelligent! There is no deity up there with a ledger, balancing your deeds. Do you remember the JOY factor I mentioned? It's the same with giving. Do you feel Joy when you give? great. Give then and be a part of the ebb and flow of the universe.
• Better value of my Steem coins - I know it may sound irrational. How could I have a higher value if I just gave 3000SP? Well, a decentralized system derives its strength from the community. As more people use Steemit and exchange Steems and SBDs, other people are drawn to use the platform. A worth of an asset is greatly determined by the attributed value the people give it (see facebook). So, with my delegations, there are now five more Steemians whose influence on the community is stronger. With their activity more users will come. Hence, the value of the coin will increase. A win-win situation.
• Usability- I noticed that there were many hours of the day that my Steem power was 100%, remaining like that for a long time, unused. Economists would say that this was an inefficient allocation of the resources. By giving others the ability to use my SP, at different time slots of the day, It's guaranteed that the SP is more efficiently used.

But remember, balance is a key element in the process and you can feel when it's appropriate or not. Like in your relationships - when you feel revived, joyous, good, in the presence of another then there is a healthy exchange of energies. On the other hand, when you feel tired and fatigue in their presence then you better check the interaction. The circle of give-and-take is open, meaning, you give and do not receive in return. It's not the other person's fault, as they can do only what they know, that is to take. It's only your responsibility to monitor the way and amount you give to them!
