I'd never actually realized that there's a limit to comment depth on here until I ran into this thread where I was BSing back and forth with @daut44 and @heretickitten and suddenly discovered I couldn't reply any more, presumably due to too many levels of comments.
If Steemit is to grow as a community this should really be fixed. Some of the greatest moments on Reddit have come from comments which were miles deep in a thread, and to just suddenly have your ability to continue a conversation cut off really stifles discussion, particularly when the most interesting posts will be the ones to generate discussion which goes that deep.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

I think a small work-around exists, but not sure to what depth. I found i couldnt reply in steemit.com in the comments section. But if i opened the link to the comment from steemstats.com it would open just the parent comment and i could reply.
