This is NOT my page; I'm simply another reader adding my opinion to the topic. I can't see the odd one here and there being a big nuisance, but if everyone started doing it to get noticed, it would be a real mess. That's why I would not encourage people to use these large graphics unless it is appropriate (like a contest ASKING for the submission of images).
