VASQUEZ ROCKS
The Beauty of Destruction
"Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better." -Albert Einstein. Einstein, famous for his theory of relativity, foretells the story behind the vast beauty of the Vasquez Rocks. The formation of this phenomenal natural structures in California began with a fault line over 25 million years ago. That fault line is now known as the San Andrea's Fault Line and stretches over 750 miles through the length of California. 35 miles south of Los Angeles, is where the most intense earthquake occurred that created the Vasquez Rocks. The horizontal tectonic plates of the earth's fault line are responsible for the destruction of architectural ingenious buildings, cities, and even human life. We survive the sorrow of the demolition to what has been constructed by architects in modern society of what nature by the observance of nature's beauty. What has already been designed through earth's creation of natural wonders, through a fault line or not, is representative of The Vasquez Rocks. The individual that the Vasquez Rocks were named after, Tiburcio Vasquez, renders another story beyond the beauty of the natural beauty know as, The Vasquez Rocks.

Magistrate of Nature
Through the destruction of earthquakes, the Vasquez Rocks stand as a single oasis that waits for the human eye to consume. Albert Einstein, as quoted above, understood the power of appreciating nature's wonders. Without stating the derivation of the name, Einstein perfectly quoted what anyone or everyone should feel when seeing a magistrate of nature. This type of appreciation is an infinite source of creativity to the archaeologists, scientists, and mathematicians who define explanations to such phenomena. Yet something most don't notice is the literary prose that proceeds after a discovery has been made. The discovery; The Vasquez origin, beauty and the reason why others are so fascinated natures portrait of The Rocks. Artists create the feeling of what a natural beauty is, scientists/mathematicians explain how the natural beauty is created, and authors write the story of what all of the chaos means. The Vasquez Rocks seem chaotic in form, frightening in thought, and impossible to ignore how it was formed. And so we find that those who work in numbers or algorithms (mathematicians/scientists) commune with the same appreciation of a natural beauty in relation to artists/authors and so forth.

The Form of History
This "appreciative commune of nature" is where the Vasquez Rocks transcend from the brilliant quote of Albert Einstein to an infamous bandit named Tiburcio Vasquez. The story of Zorro is known worldwide, but its origin derives from the Vasquez Rock structure. In the late 1800's ,Johnston McCulley, the author who wrote the fictional story of Zorro, based the entirety of his novel on the legend of Tiburcio Vasquez. Vasquez utilized the rock formation , made 25 million years ago by the San Andreas Fault, as a hide out after stealing and murdering others in the western period of California that California's ritually call "The Great West". McCulley was inspired by Vasquez's treachery, as an author. However, in the story of Zorro, the main character was a very different in motive than Vasquez. Meaning, Zorro was the protagonist. Zorro defended the commoners and indigenous people of California in the late 1800's during the Mexican/Spanish Rule. Vasquez's trademark, in relation to his burglary, was tying his victims' arms behind their back and leaving them dead, face down, in the dust. What western movie would not be interesting without it's antagonist? However, as an inspiration to modern art, science, literature, and media entertainment in history of the modern era give way to creating more progress in relation to observing the natural world around. As Einstein state's that nature, when seen, enables us all to understand.

The Creation of Natural Art
But, understand what? What has the Vasquez Rocks done for Earth? 25 million years ago, a fault line shakes, and a beautiful rock formation is created. A man in the late 1800's shows up, kills and robs people in California, and ends up with this vast, gorgeous rock structure named after him. Why? No one knows. But what we do know is simple. From these events in history, we as a society, are given gifts of epic proportions, Zorro, written by McCulley from the inspiration of Tiburcio Vasquez, began with a destructive earthquake 25 million years ago and a story withih a dark antagonist in California during the 1800's. Given the creativity of inspiration the Vasquez Rocks submits, there is more relative history (history that has happened recently) that is very fascinating.

Modern Media Interest
Science fiction is the last subject that would fit into the inspiration of Vasquez and his rock formation. Science fiction is usually written for what will occur in the future with explainable story lines and fantastical imagery. Yet, as Einstein stated, when you look at nature you will understand. The fascinating point being that the creators of the 1960's version of Star Trek, contributed to the already interesting facts of the Vasquez Rocks. Yes STAR TREK! In 1967, on the Enterprise, Captain Kirk and Spock filmed episodes of Star Trek, "Arena", on the Vasquez Rocks!! What a surprise, right? Compelling episodes of fighting off aliens and protecting their ship, hits so close to home. At first the breathtaking atmosphere of what is known as a natural phenomena seems a bit boring and not interesting. But when you understand the story behind the scene, the origin of its formation, the history of what occurred, and the inspiration that it has given scientist, artists, and et cetera to create, nature's miracles become alive. They en light your version of what life truly is; perception.
Welcome to Vasquez Rocks
Trails to da awesomeness
An Unseen Legendary Wonder
A first perceptible glance at this place seems like nothing more than some sight seeing tourist attraction in the beginning. But now it's a place of vast scientific interest, given its roots derived 25 million years ago with the shake of the San Andrea's Fault line, a place of extreme historical significance (being named after the 1800s bandit, Vasquez), and a place of literary beauty (McCullely's Zorro), and a place of exceeding creative media interest (Star Trek!). The history of the legendary wonder, The Vasquez Rocks, internally seeps down your creative streak and flies its way into your mind, heart, and soul. Whether you are on a road trip or in California, this Never Land of inspiration, shows our history and provides a fountain of creative energy.
Good luck traveling and mark the Vasquez Rocks on your map...
It's worth it!!!

Definitely HOT in that area, and I love camping and hiking at Joshua tree. Jumbo rocks and hidden valley are my favorites. Also, the chimneys are so cold compared to the outside heat, love it. Thanks for the comments, and helping me remember Joshua tree.
