Business As Usual

I plan to wait for the price to drop further. If I see signs of stabilization close to a level I know Steem can survive, I'll buy more. The only scenario under which I will buy more despite that happening is when I see actual $$$$ generating businesses coming on board.

Now is the time for Steem apps that have a more business oriented approach. They are going to need to produce value as opposed to be relying on a big Steemit Inc delegation, the value of which is purely speculative and going down the toilet as we speak. SteemMonsters is a great (and, currently, the only) example of that.

We don't need yet another app that releases some shitcoin of an SMT, boasts being ad free and rewards people with that shitcoin or even STEEM. We need apps that make people, be it the users themselves or advertisers/marketers/promoters, want to shell out $$$$. Anyone who thinks creating shitcoins out of thin air and distributing them to people for extending their hand is a business is a fucking moron.

Totally agree we need more actual $$$$ generating businesses to come on board.

Dtube is going in that direction and let's not let people fool the Steem ecosystem and create shitcoins SMT.

Totally agree. Here's the problem (I run an advertising agency): The Cheating.

Without the cheating, Steemit would explode. But the cheating castrates the critical 'curation of quality content' feedback loops. All that whale and orca capital (85%+ of the total SP), that is supposed to be dedicated to discovering and rewarding excellent quality content is instead being delegated to bidbots or leased to individual users so as to elevate crap ... and, of course, upvote themselves and their vote-trading partners.

Creating Quality Content isn't even slightly relevant to succeeding on the blockchain.

Go to Trending, click on 10 posts at random and then try to imagine having to sell ad-space to a Fortune 500 company based upon what you see. Is that really the best poem Steemit can produce? Would people really want to watch that stupid video?

Nothing on Steemit works the way it's supposed to work ... Because of the Cheating. Real world businesses require accurate statistics and an understanding of a system's dynamics. But Steemit has none. Rather it is merely an assortment of game-rigging and self-dealing schemes ... largely organized by the whales and witnesses.

No corrupt system ever survives and STEEM/Steemit is committing suicide. Once a viable alternative exists (soon) the blockchain will implode ... quality content creators will begin leaving and that will set off a general exodus. STEEM's ONLY value is Steemit's community of users but the folks in charge do not seem to grasp this simple insight.

I wasn't here for $0.07, but very well may be here for $0.05. Only kidding. I was willing to post on Facebook for nothing, so this doesn't even rattle me. In a way I think that it is Flushing out those that are only in it for the money. I think you're right and it has to be a little bit of both. A little bit of fun and a little bit of money otherwise the only thing it is, is another job.

I think we are rightly or wrongly tied to Bitcoin. Personally I think it is wrongly. Steemit has its share of problems, but I think it certainly has some value. Now I guess it is a question of how much.

I'm planning on sticking it out until the cows come home, or they tell me to go away. I've greatly enjoyed being on here for the last two years, and meeting all of you new friends has been a hoot. Maybe it will go up again, I'm hoping, but either way, it's been a great impetus to write and chat. So onward, into the unknown, cloudy steam of Steemit.

Anyone who is in this as a quick money maker will ultimately loose in my opinion. Those who come here just for the money leave soon after. Those of us who are working hard and are here for the long haul I firmly believe will be well rewarded.

This is only the beginning. Think of it the same as the Dot Com era. Things got super inflated and crashed hard and many places went under and people ran for the hills. Today the Internet is where largest amount of business are. Things will turn around it will just take time.

indeed bro,even steem are down it doesn't mean we end up this way. You know crypto is a machine running through digital and there is a chance to go up and down anytime..
