My girlfriend has tried her hand at blogging a few times and the staying power it takes is actually massive, so congrats on keeping at it for 7 months! I know when you first start you don't get any kind of encouragement so you need that passion that you mentioned to stick with it.
Luckily, for many who start out here on Steemit, you get a boost when you first come on and it really helps with that will power to push on.

I hope your girlfriend is not too discouraged to ry again. It is so hard to keep going when sometimes you are not getting the validation but then one day one thing happens that makes you feel so great about what you are doing and you have the motivation to keep doing it. I think you need to also have a clear vision of what you want to do and where you want your blog to go is also important. Good luck! @oliverb
