Being an internet marketer and the founder of Omnitut.com, one of my major problems has been my marketing strategy.
I started to search online for ideas then I stopped and started to think about the biggest companies in the world and what the were doing right, companies like Nike, Coca Cola and Apple.
I noticed a simple but powerful pattern similar to all of them, the pattern is simply their identity.
When I say identity most people will start to think of their logos, but that's not my point what am talking about is the message the are passing to their customers.
For example when you look at each of them and check their patterns you notice that the don't put their products out as the main message.
When you see Coca Cola's adverts the only message you see is energy, happiness and youthfulness which is the message the are passing, not the message of their beverage.
Nike on the other hand shows you great athletes who have done great in their fields of sport, while Apple simply tells you to be innovative and think different.
Now in all this companies none of them is shoving their products down your throat, yet millions of people patronize them, people love their products and respect their BRAND.
That's the point am trying to make, when you have a brand you need a message which you will be using to connect with your customers.
And that message is your core value, in a company everything can be changed from your logo to your motto and your theme, but not the core value.
This is the foundation of every brand you have to know it clearly and understand it and commit it to memory.
Core value + Good message = Trusted brand
But note your core value must give value to your customers, that is where the money is made.
If you can't impact a life positively then you are not ready yet to own a world class brand.
