The new hardfork was release about an hour ago.
This led to people gaining more voting power so the value of comments and posts have drastically increased.

Well the content of this short blurb isn't worth the current 3.22 you earned so far imo anyway. Does that mean STEEM is over-priced because as a business enterprise steemit wastes money? :-)

I'm very new, just joined yesterday, so take this with a grain of salt because I don't want to give any misinformation.
Having said that I've been reading a lot today about a hardfork that was just implemented. I'd look for posts on that because they've been pretty informative and people are talking about it affecting the value of upvotes and the like.

The hardfork redistributed some of the voting powers, I believe it took some power away from higher rep accounts and gave more to lower rep accounts, but don't quote me on that.
