If you love beer as much as I do, you'd probably think you're a professional beer drinker, like me. Well, truth is that we're just beginners unless we're getting paid $65,000 per year.
Turns out the Smithsonian National Museum of American History is actually hiring - wait for it - "Beer Scholar/Historian" for a 3-year-long assignment, sponsored by The Brewers Association. And they'll pay BIG.
Yeah, I know. The dream job!
The museum has been very interested in brewing after WWII and because of the boom on crafted beer, they decided some new research and data collecting is needed... for science, of course!
Now, hold on there.
According to Paula Johnson, the museum's curator, they're looking for someone who can: "Focus and dedicate efforts towards research, documentation, and collecting American brewing history." One of the requirements is that you must be based in the nation's capital, Washington D.C, and they also state that "the position will go to a trained historian, not a seasoned beer taster.
To sweeten the deal even more, this gig will have some extra perks like samplings of wine, coffee, cheese, artisnal bread and farmers markets.
I'm more of an amateur beer drinker. As I pay to drink it, not get paid LOL.
