Hello everyone. @osigbhemeh here with some few tips on how to stay relevant and important here on steemit.
It's the holiday period for students and few workers so this literally means there will be a lot of time for Steemit, and even more time to party! This particular topic has been on my head for a while now and I've been seriously thinking on how to stay relevant here on steemit, constant posts without being flagged, always active to know the happenings on the blockchain and many more. And then I came up with a few tips that I'll be sharing.
. Make use of your Voting power!
This is a mistake newbies constantly make here on this platform, they think upvoting someone's post is making the person rich or financially buoyant. To upvote someone's post entails that you like the post they created, same way we like people's pictures on instagram, facebook and others. To curate posts is something that can easily be done, even on the road - spend half an hour in the evening scrolling through my feed and upvoting a few posts I enjoy. If you enjoy the post, you'll definitely want to be fully involved in a conversation with the writer by giving quality comment on the post. This act makes you stay relevant on the blockchain.
There are applications that makes you auto-upvote a user you enjoy his/her articles. If we enjoy certain articles some users post, they(the users) can be placed on auto-upvote, so they can be receiving support from you even in your absence.
. Pick quality over quantity:
This is one of the most essential tips on staying relevant on here. Thinking of what to post is really hectic, I think new users should have a pattern that people will know them for. Posting more than once a day isn't a good idea because there may be some days when you eventually have nothing to blog about. For new users, it is important to pick quality over quantity; what does this entails? A concise post with many meaning is better than a verbose post with little or no meaning. Lengthy posts with meaning are advisable, don't misquote me, especially posts relating to the steem blockchain.
Even when we have nothing to post about, it doesn't mean we're irrelevant or unimportant, but, it gives us the opportunity to involve in other topics by commenting on them or upvoting other posts. Quality comments on blogs from other users adds to our relevance on steemit and even increase our followers.
. The use of steemchat and discord:
Discord is like a market place where you sell your blogs and involve many other steemians to see what your post is about. While away from creating posts or on the road it's a very good idea to remain active on discord or steemchat to involve fully in active conversations or chatting and collaborating with steemians. By so doing, you'll get new friends and followers.
Conclusion
Conclusively, most times I follow some users on the blockchain, and they go awol for a long period of time, and when they return, it'll be hard to reconnect with them. Having less time to create quality content doesn't mean we should go away for a very long period of time. You can't leave the blockchain for a long period and expect to pick up from where you left on your return back. Staying active here on the blockchain, discord and steemchat will make you relevant on here. what is your approach if life gets in the way and you have less time for blogging? I'll love to see your thoughts on this.
This makes sense to me. I am a "Newbie", just about to post my 2nd article later today, but I have been thinking all week on what exactly is the proper amount to post per week. I decided that even though most people seem to post at least once a day, I am still trying to figure this platform out, so while I am learning I gave myself a minimum of once per week. I can always increase my posting frequency as I get more familiar with whats going on, but I didn't want to post a bunch a junk before I even knew the rules, making myself look bad.
