Do not fear my friend, my money is on you. 😁

It is funny how many talk about competition, which, to me, is a reflection of the programming done to use by the banksters.

Is there really competition? You create your art based upon what moves you. We upvote you based upon how said work moves us. Is there really a competition?

If you like my article and another one, am I competing against that one? It is what we are conditioned to believe because we are taught that you might vote for that article and not mine. So what if you do? Or what if you vote for both? Or neither?

We see a shortage of people on here, relatively speaking. I get maybe 70-100 votes on my post, most from low SP people. That said, in a year, is it possible we each could be getting 1000 upvotes? Sure. We are the early adopters. People look to anyone with more SP than them with "envy". They want to attract the attention of that person.

I believe you see this mindset already. We can only imagine what will happen with 5M or 10M people on here.

I get the gist of your article but, ultimately, competition is a scarcity derived condition. When we are in the Age of Abundance, there is no competition because there is plenty....

Enough upvotes for everyone.

But my money is still on you.

I was thinking, if you saw the article, you might say this ☺

I don't think there's a competition so much, and I don't like to adapt to the scarcity mindset... on the other hand, there's a finite amount of SP and a finite amount of VP for voters to utilize each day. I used to be periodically upvoted by a mini-whale. And, another whale had me on his auto-voting curation for a few weeks. I never hear from these guys any more. One might say they've found someone more worthwhile, in their eyes, to show support to. My posts don't grab their attention anymore, and I believe I'm firmly off of their radar. In order for them to show me the support they did in late summer 2017, someone else would have to be voted a little less or not at all.

This isn't a complaint, I'm doing fairly well regardless. New supporters have stepped in. I've found supporters that are more enthusiastic about what I provide.

However, their support will fluctuate in the same way my support for others fluctuates. I think most users have someone they upvote daily/routinely, but that kind of loyalty seems rare to me.

I get the gist of your article but, ultimately, competition is a scarcity derived condition. When we are in the Age of Abundance, there is no competition because there is plenty....

I appreciate you saying that. Regardless of who does and doesn't support my posts, I'm hoping I can maintain and even grow a fanbase. And you're right about abundance, it just doesn't seem to be in full effect.

Imagine having 100,000 followers that each upvoted a penny's worth twice a week. That would keep the bills paid easily ☺

You sound logical and realistic about 100,000 followers. I think in a short while most of us getting nice upvotes to keep creator motivated to publish more worthy posts and survive through dry spells( similar thinks on youtube where algorythm recommending you video every 2 month). It is more and more feels like youtube competition for favor from AL/Whale :)

i totally agree with you!

oh wow ok! I am surprised to see this blog!
You always post art blogs so it was nice to read that you actually read other people's post and put thoughts in to steemit :)
Thank you for your successful tips!

@kawaiipower glad you liked this, it's not my usual way of communicating, of course. I'm encouraged by everyone's replies. I think you'll do well here, you seem to be doing all the right things and your content is always fun and interesting :)

I consider you one of Steemits greatest artists. But I totally agree, I already see how others are producing much better content than I do and I have to improve my game to keep up. Not that I can complain but you gotta do what you gotta do.

You content is great...I have a few videos of yours to watch that I have bookmarked...I am really interested in taking myself to the next level on here and you post some stuff I need to learn about. I am certain I am going to be contacting you soon regarding some of what you put together.

You are an asset to this blockchain from the videos I watched already.

Thanks, I appreciate it coming from you. You have been an inspiration for me recently.
You can contact me on Discord or Steemit.chat. :)

It is a two-way street @flauwy.

I like your stuff and you seem to have your finger on the pulse of some things on here.

It is great to interact with people like you. Together, we can all help each other take this place to incredible heights.

Let's do it. Mind over matter. We can change the world.

In one of my other comments in this thread, I mention some terrible pre-youtube animators that are still riding the wave of undeserved fame. Early(ish) adoption is a big deal :)

haha, I don't try to become them. I want to improve and and grow and do new things. :)

Yes, perhaps, but I think if you play to your strengths and build those connections, it makes it easier for you to succeed and reach the day that you can dedicate more time to your posts :)

Great blog! You are top dog in my eyes and should keep writing and creating funny animations and infographics! You have your finger on the pulse here and you’re so right about making connections and getting ready for the competition by building our SP and finding our niche of like-minded Steemians. If we up our game now their will be great opportunity down the road that will
enable us to go full time!

I know it sounds lazy and unintellectual, but it'd be nice just to make a living from curation rewards - I call it the "button-pushing monkey" dream ☺ Not that I'd stop there, but some financial security would enable me to live at a much better pace and have the ability to have a bigger say in how I spend my days.

I'm sure you've heard about Weiss rating Steem #1, that's just crazy, the attitude here during late summer was so defeatist... Glad most everyone stuck with it.

Yes freedom is key and you can be creative without any pressure. I remember when the redesign happened just after the ddos attack and everyone was complaining that the platform was broken and nothing worked right. I was less affected by it because I was used to posting on the esteem app which was already very buggy... ha ha... people get really pissed when functionality decreases. Great to have the Weiss rating and the listing on Binance - its going to drive the price like crazy once the market turns around!

Shut your face, more bottom feeder type comics. Kidding!! I'm not big into watching vids so this was nice, I would rather read a post and look at some drawings. This type of post caters to people like me as an audience... not sure there are many like me though... so take that with a grain of salt. I just come for your comment section mostly and the salty as hell comebacks to the spammers... lol!!!

Haha... I entertain myself sometimes... Messing with their tiny brains is fun, but for all I know, they'll never read the comment, they CAN'T read my comment, or they're just an accursed bot.

Glad you found the article worthwhile. I'll do my best to keep it up. Thanks @oldschoolrepair!

Yeah, I get what you're saying about the bots, but it is still great entertainment. ;) I think I skip the videos by most people because I'm usually stuck out in the boonies with work and I am trying to save my data.

I'm building my reputation as a blockchain wiseguy

Blockchain Wiseguy would be a killer title for a short story. I might have to steal it.

It would also be a awesome Steemit name

Sounds straight-up gangster, but more like Chicago 1930s style

No problem, it's open-source ☺

I think your thoughts are on track. Without a doubt we will have a big advantage. Just be oneself and enjoy building solid relationships.

You have a cool niche.

@sequentialvibe the more I think about it, the more I think there is an advantage. For example, there were horrendous flash animations being done before youtube, stuff I could do while fighting a bear and wolf simultaneously — but at the time, they were new and fresh and some of the guys who were in the limelight early are STILL riding the wave of undeserved success. It's crazy!

Thanks!

Hahaha I was surprised to click on your post and see so many words, in particular I liked a lot, about what you talk about creating links with other users of the community I think it's excellent and I've always thought so since I joined steemit, one of my approaches from the beginning here, was to find friendship or at least many acquaintances.

Building friendships in Steemit is the best thing you can do, I love talking to many people from different parts of the world and many support me including you @overkillcoin, and I want my support to be noticeable but I'm just a sardine in this immense ocean that is Steemit, but I know that at a time when I cease to be a sardine, my gratitude to you and others will be remarkable.

Thank you for your support ;)

Thank you @yanes94, I feel much the same way, I'd like to give back more some day. I don't mean just to upvote someone because they're breathing, but to give more support to all those who have worked hard and stayed with Steemit through the tough times :)

The getting to know others from around the world - in a more friendly environment - is also a big incentive for me. Seems other medias aren't as 'open' as Steemit.

Have a great day!

I agree, one of the secrets of Steemit is building a strong family, we are indeed quite early adopters and I think keeping pace now, will allow us to be a valuable support for the platform in the future. Then we can be part of curating as well as adding quality original content. Hopefully we can be part of the change... I hope to see you keep growing 🖖🏽

What a lovely piece of art.

Thanks @artzanolino — that's a fantastic oil painting!

What an inspiring read, even imagined you giving a speech before a class of cadets to an epic music playing in the background and cinematic flybys. There will be a lot of competition that will result in oversaturation and minnows will forever lurk in the dark, so boys and girls shouldn't spam but focus on good content while there's still time.

I tend to think so, instead of just being the best you can at (x y z) talent, it's important to make ties now and establish yourself as a personality behind the talent ☺

Your vision was very lulzy haha...

I know you have to be looking forward to main stream adoption of Steemit... look at all those extra spammers you'll have to rant about..

Oh that will be terrible when HF20 lets the floodgates open :(

You have what some call a good talent stack, she that plays much better than being an expert in a narrow field, I guess I have to find what my strengths are

For example, there are many cooks/chefs on youtube, but someone gained a lot of fame by exclusively cooking dishes that were mentioned in famous movies. They'd dress up in the style of that movie while cooking. Sounds stupid and silly, but having that "angle" made them very popular... :O

What an effective post! I look at art every day in your post but today I was thinking about when your post will end. The reason was not that your post was long, but I was surprised to see your post as it was very interesting and influential.

Thanks @coolbuddy - I hope it was a good balance between informative and encouraging. I know, it's not usual for me to write so much. Perhaps I'll try again some other day. Hope you're doing well with your life and classes.

Yup, it was a good balance. Thanks Yes I am focusing on my study.

You are incredibly talented friend, you have your own style, you are unique and you provide a lot of value to this community. You bring awareness to things that need attention and help to bring light hearted fun to interesting topics. This is really well said! Thanks for always sharing great content!

@j-vo thanks so much, this means a lot to hear from you. What's crazy is I'm really lacking in social media promotion for my biz, but I'm thriving here... It'd be hard to do both, but I guess I should start to do more on that awful business networking site haha...

Again, very appreciative & hope you're doing well! You seem busy!

Terrific thoughts Coin! I think you have said some very important things here. One of the points I need mashed in to my head is the quote about failing to plan. I'm playing most of this by ear, and hanging on by the seat of my pants. I'm lucky to be where I am now, but I'm going to need to buckle in if I am going to have the discipline to make it to my goals.

Oh yeah... I have goals, and I have my starting line, it is all the stuff in between that I don't know about.

It's the wild west out here, but we have the advantage of being some of the first settlers. Hopefully that pays off in the coming years.

Thanks @mikepm74, hopefully the write-up had a hopeful spin to it.

If you look at - ugh - youtube for an example - well, there are some realllllly untalented people there who just "show up" every day - or at least on a steady basis - and they run circles around the talented guys who only upload 6 times a year.

Same with a lot of professions I guess - I've worked for some really untalented people that were either in the right time at the right place - or had connections - or could talk the loudest - or all three :O

Nice post. Success may also be on our way. :)

I sure hope so! I'm tired of that stupid USD!

We probably need the USD to stay around although maybe it can use sbd and/or steem as part of it's reserves.

Well written dude , I am sure those people still wasting their time of fb will shift to steemit in near future . We are still the early adopters of this platform .

I've tried to talk to some of them, but they're so stubborn and set in their ways... even the guy that said he wanted to sign up chickened out... It's funny some of the people who are putting a lot of effort into Steemit may have crummy jobs they hate (like me)... and hopefully they'll be able to leave their dull work down the road :)

Well you are right... If steemit gets crowded we will have many benefits and its growing fabulously and that day is not far away when we will be able to see it on top of the world websites in alexa rank.

Wow! Good point about the Alexa Rank.

people stick with who they know

That's true. There are some people on here who I have a closer connection with and I'll upvote pretty much all their stuff that I see. I know they work too hard for too little and I want to support them. It's relationships like those that will be important when we start getting inundated with new people. Having a core following will be helpful in continuing to have success.

I vote that you keep writing.

Another thing about building followers before things get mobbed - a lot of newcomers see amount of followers as an achievement... it might not always be, but that's the perception - thanks @themanwithnoname!

I'd rather have 10 good followers than 1,000 that don't interact, comment, upvote. I want people who are engaged.

Of course, my point is it doesn't hurt to have some "trophy" followers haha... Take care kid!

You just called me "kid!" I'm so happy right now. It's like getting carded at the grocery store. You're the best!

The competition is possible if you create boring and gray content. Such content merges in the gray mass with similar messages.

Whatever the competition, you need to create original content, do what you do better than others. I'm sure every person has strengths and weaknesses. You need to use your strong side and develop it. The main recipe for originality is to be yourself.

I stick to the position @taskmaster4450 . Increasing the strength of voice is the best investment that everyone desires. In the future, your voice will become more valuable.

The popularity of steemit is growing every day and I believe that this trend will continue.

You @overkillcoin create original and interesting content, your animations are filled with meaning. I'm sure by the time when talented animators appear here, they will not be able to compete with you.

Thank you, good article

The main recipe for originality is to be yourself.

Yes, those who are able to communicate themselves the most clearly, enthusiastically and in an interesting manner will stand out in my opinion.

You @overkillcoin create original and interesting content, your animations are filled with meaning. I'm sure by the time when talented animators appear here, they will not be able to compete with you.

Depending on how high Steem goes, I could not only manage to go full-time, but to also take classes or practice new techniques to hone my talents. This is a great advantage.

Glad to be hear relatively early. I am user #185,691 ☺

Wise words my friend. It's gonna be fun. Hopefully.

I'm so tired right now, my words feel like they're smushing together haha... Glad it was legible :)

Yes, everything's "hopefully" in crypto... DOH!

Hi @overkillcoin, I will become a little God on Steemit. XD

Errrrr.... okay? Now go throw your lightning bolts at the spammers!

you are great @overkillcoin. with a little touch you have managed to create amazing artwork. thanks with your success tips, it's worth a try because I think no one is planning his failure.

Wow, thanks. Hope you find them helpful @war-tp!

Hello @overkillcoin and created a few hours ago a megapost where I mention if you want to see it.
I mentioned the best contents that I found in that post.

I checked it out!!!

Thank you, you are a very supportive person in the development of new works, you are an exemplary artist who always gives space for new followers of steemit who have artistic talents, thank you very much

Wow. Just wow. Take care Furqan!

You. Have writen a beautiful post with many letteres ordered one after the other and some spaces to form words and those words make sentences to express an idea. And it has amazing pictures to expand the knowledge and the english language is spoken.

:V sorry

But you know I agree and I don't have more to add. Ah yes something... If we become powerfull enough how will we manage it? What if I upvote 100% a post that other ppl don't consider is worth $20 or so...? Will there be many flaggers too?

Love your art, love your thoughts. Good to see some more words from you every now and then.

Relationships are just as important for success as merit (anywhere). Both are equally important, I think. And both will always be reasons for people to upvote others on Steemit.

Yeah, it's okay, I don't read your posts either...

Hahaha. At least Jimmy read the title. The spammers are starting to put more work into this. Progress my friend. Progress.
Awesome post by the way. Now I know you’re not just a”wiseass”. There’s a well functioning brain up there between those shoulders.
I’m having a blast just meeting people, getting to know them and enjoying their takents and work. I wish I had more to offer the community. I’m just not creative. : )
I AM open minded and sort of a “know a little about a lot of different things” kind of girl.
Maybe one day soon I will think of an angle where I can add something of quality.
Could be a blessing in disguise. Maybe by then I’ll be able to reach more and have more visibility just by forming solid relationships.
What do I know? Lol.
“Your post is upvote. Folow to bring great steem” : )

Now I know you’re not just a”wiseass”. There’s a well functioning brain up there between those shoulders.

My regular content can be a little juvenile I guess haaha...

Yes, Jimmy-Jimmy has been realizing he needs to stand above the spam crowd - his own niche can be actually cutting/pasting the title - wow, Jimmy, that's a quality spam right there.

Glad you liked the post, I'm often tired and distracted, so it's not super easy for me to write... Who knows, maybe I'll try it again.

I think you definitely have the right idea by making connections early on. When you're ready to start posting, you'll have a network in place.

"I dig for hidden upvote treasurrre. Pleze 2 give me the map to find speshul upvote buttens for big success times for certainly"

Goodness, we're generating content that they can cut and paste to garner massive spam success!

Ha ha ha!

What breed is that dog? And what breed is that spammer?

I don't know the answer to either. ;)

The dog looks like a terrier, the spammer looks like a razorback boar.

razorback boar

Nailed IT!!
