if my SPS proposal goes through for 700 SBD over a few weeks, will you be interested in making at least 3 videos at least 30 seconds each to explain how steem works?

They have to be in style of coinbase earn

i was gonna use fivver so its up top you but theres no negotiations as it would be funding set from SPS and no wiggle room whatsoever and its up to you if your interested or not but yeah check the new proposal system youc an finfd it there

https://steempeak.com/proposals

Sorry for the slow reply. I gave it some thought and it seems like a good deal, esp. given the explosive nature of cryptos.

Could you contact me on Discords?

Ā  Ā· Ā 5 years agoĀ

yes I just did

remember my proposal may not pass in time it needs 7.5 Million SP vote haha

If you can work for same price as the lowest fivver style freelance worker, to make a coinbase.com/earn style video at least one, for steem, I might still fund it myself with a few other people even if the proposal system fails us

I may just need to buy some upvotes for the post

https://steemit.com/proposal/@ackza/coinbase-earn-style-video-for-steem-steem-sps-proposal-requiring-funds-to-pay-experienced-freelance-video-creator-to-create

Aww snap. What's the lowest fiverr guy cost? Cheapest doesn't always mean high quality. Let me know and maybe can work something out... If I have plenty of time to do it then I can charge cheaper...

@stellabelle thanks for your advice. if there is no objection please follow me back, I really like and keingan great to make friends with you

I'm working out the details for a new post titled, "The Missing Chapter to the Steem White Paper: The Gift Economy"
it might be cool to collaborate?

This is a great project idea..

I'll have to take a break from making cube creatures, but I'm so tired those little blockheads anyway!

Ok, let me know. Tomorrow's nutty, can have it done tuesday(?) :)

Ā  Ā· Ā 7 years agoĀ

Thanks! As a new user, this was super helpful

Music to my crazy ears :) Welcome!

Ā  Ā· Ā 7 years agoĀ

This looks awesome and I think it is very helpful for new users already on the platform and for crypto enthusiasts not on the platform. For the crypto uneducated and uneducated in general I think they will need to go to preschool! The first stumbling block might be liquid funds... "is that like melted gold?" Ha ha... but who needs them!

Haha, at that point I throw them a link to a dictionary!

I've been looking for something like this for weeks. How exactly does steem dollars, steem and cashing out my steem weekly? Pretend I'm a total NOOB and I post a piece of content and in 7 days it makes $20. What do I do with the $20 to I move it to savings in the wallet for steem? or do I reallocate it back into steem power or what? I'm so confused as to what to do with the steem or steem dollars once the 7 day payout ends.

am I able to buy steem coins on an exchange? would I want to do this? Im completely new, I keep adding content to my blog everyday but am unsure what to do with whatever is upvoted. id like to contribute to the community as well as generate a great side income. Any pointers. BTW I added you too :)

By the way, a $20 post only pays the author about $15 and pays the voters $5 (split up of course). This encourages the voters to upvote good content. And when you upvote content, 25% of your upvote's value will boomerang back to you.

The steem power from a post power automatically goes into the long term hold (13 weeks)

The steem dollar will show up in your balance. You can decide to:

  1. Leave it there
  2. Put it into savings
  3. Sell it for Steem using Blocktrades
  4. Trade it on the open market for Steem
  5. Sell if for bitcoin, litecoin, doge, bitshares or ethereum using Blocktrades

I think the best way to buy steem with bitcoin would be through blocktrades. If you simply want to convert steem dollars into steem, definitely do it through the open market.

Hope this helps!

It does help I guess I am curious what do I do with Steem Dollars, steem power and all of this. I guess I'm having a hard time understanding what to do with all these currencies and should I be pulling things into savings as a NOOB or just putting it back into steem dollars?
2018-01-16_1102.png

I appreciate your questions. I'm only one person, but I'll try to address this in an infographic soon! :)

Well, in the short term, I'd use the open market to trade steem dollars for steem, and then power up. If that doesnt make sense, I'll try to explain later :)

Great stuff my friend. Iā€™m very close to getting it!

Thanks I'll be sharing this with a lot of new Steemians!

Cool Infographic man, crypto is lacking stuff like this, and it is work like this that brings value to the platform and should be commended. Upvoted.

Ā  Ā· Ā 7 years agoĀ

These look lovely. The only thing that I would tweak a bit is the font or the size of the whole thing, so that fonts don't seem distorted? If that makes sense. Other than that these could be useful, especially for newbies ^^ Good job!

Just changed fonts from "light" to "medium"

Here's the original if you'd like to compare:

Ā  Ā· Ā 7 years agoĀ

Woah nice! A lot better, I think! ^^

@acidyo found an error, fixed it. 3 days not 3.5 days.

Maybe slightly bolder fonts? Sorry can't elaborate more, I'm passengering now šŸ˜‚

Nice infographic... clear and easy to read and understand

We need tons of these, it's exhausting trying to explain everything to new users there is so much information to take in!

Feel free to send me any ideas, I know you're on the "front lines" of on-boarding new users :)

I would love some help in understanding. and I would assist in advocating as well once I understood what to do

I did a version of the steem wallet a while ago, and it is interesting to see how we explained it in different ways: https://steemit.com/infographics/@plushzilla/steem-explained-in-diagrams-13

Would be great if we ended up doing a collaboration of some sort to combine the information :)

Ā  Ā· Ā 7 years agoĀ

I think it's 3 days for savings transfer, 3.5 days is the average price of steem that is displayed on the front-end.

Just getting this now - I'll patch that up - thanks for stopping by! ā˜ŗ

Ā  Ā· Ā 7 years agoĀ (edited)

Yo this is genius! Definitely gonna be helpful for new comers! Congrats on this post blowing up! I thought the post you resteemed was your second post and I was like, "Dam overkill must be really hurtin with time right now because he wrote a blog post ahaha"

Today's post though -- wasn't so explosive -- haha -- but Steemit is often like farming, you gotta plant and tend for months before seeing the big harvest...

Thanks - hope to make moarrrrrr! ā˜ŗ

Ā  Ā· Ā 7 years agoĀ

Haha thatā€™s the realest ish Iā€™ve heard all day haha

Farming's not so glamorous, is it?

Hunting and fishing are "cooler" because you take down a grizzly and have a BBQ - or you smack a giant squid around with an oar till he begs for mercy - then you eat him... But yeah, most of the time Steemit's like farming... although some days you can bag a rabbit or woodchuck lolz...

No aminals were harmed in the writing of this comment.

Ā  Ā· Ā 7 years agoĀ

LMFAO wow can you please take a break from info graphics and make a animation of that exact scene?!

ahaha honestly I would be ok with a series of sketches with that description under it ahaha

Aye ay nothing wrong with a little homesteading from time to time haha

Or i could make it into an infographic somehow...

Today I have very little creative freedom, yesterday was burned up by frivolous client requests that derailed my schedule and increased da PRESSURE...

Will this rat race ever end - gahhhhhhhhhhhhh...

Ā  Ā· Ā 7 years agoĀ

Lmao yeah I could see that becoming a popular infographic haha

And dawg I feel you! Everyone has been quitting my job, so my work schedule has been crazy, but so will this paycheck! Might buy a bag of Steem if this price keeps falling!

Another wonderful infographic! Would you consider creating one that clarifies the "funding" process of bringing your own Steem (from a coin exchange) into your Steemit account? I'd like to know how I can purchase Steem with fiat and then power it up for weightier engagement. And also clarifying how one's vote can change value? That would be awesome for us newbies!

Thanks Amelia, that's a great request and I'm sure many others have been wondering as well. I'll be sure to cover that as soon as time allows :)

As far as votes changing value (this is my limited knowledge), the steem market goes up and down constantly which has an effect on payouts.

In rare instances someone could unvote you or flag you (downvote you), changing the final payout... but like I said this is rare. Downvoting can be misapplied, but 99% of the time, it's directed toward spammers or other bad behavior. And hardly anyone will unvote a post...

Appreciate your feedback!

Very nice, very easy explanation. Thanks for creating this.

Great, your feedback helps me know if I'm on point or not. ā˜ŗ

Thank You!!!!!!

Quite explanatory.

I nice clear overview, thank you!

One of the things I find a bit baffling is the internal "market" here vs. using an exchange or @blocktrades when you take your SBD and turn it into Steem to power up. Seems like there's all sorts of advice and conflicting information on what is the best way to go, and when it's the best and so on.

Bright Blessings!

I think internal market has no trading fees, but I could be wrong. One advantage to blocktrades is it's quicker often times, you don't have to wait for the trade to take place.

Thanks for the reply! On the surface, that seems more or less what I have figured out. But then there's all sorts of "only use an exchange when the price of Steem is rising during a full moon" and "use the internal market for less than X amount, but only when the price of BTC is down 5%" and stuff like that. Makes it all sound like rocket science.

Yeah, there may be some validity to the details, but I simply don't trouble myself with them! :)

Is this sweet bank account to maintain your steem dollar?

Hello! The bank account can store either steem dollars or steem.

Usually I sell the steem dollars for a little bit of other currency OR - buy back into steem :D

I'm on tech support now... My animation program does not work and it's scary to have this problem! :O

Ā  Ā· Ā 7 years agoĀ

It's good to help the community. And more to those who are starting, to make it a little easier to understand the platform.

Thanks! Hoping to make a lot more ! :)

It's very easy to understand. Educational for all steemit users

Explains extremely well so even the newcomers can understand! Great post! Keep it up!

Postingan yang Bagus luar biasa

Commentingan and Upvotingan also :)

Ā  Ā· Ā 7 years agoĀ

Thank you upvotingan

Ah I totally love myself some info graphics :D

I hope I can ease the burden of Steem users having to explain stuff repeatedly :)

Ā  Ā· Ā 7 years agoĀ

If I only had this when I first entered Steem a few weeks ago.
Soo, if I understand correctly Steem power is just Steem that's locked down, which also gives interest?

And enables voting power... that's a good summary I think.

great info
thanks for sharing iy with us

Ā  Ā· Ā 7 years agoĀ

Info-graphics is one of the Best and Efficient way to explain something that's not easily to explain thus it is precise and accurate and most of all fun to read with.

Thanks for sharing these and I hope to see more from you. God bless you @overkillcoin

Bravo. This site can definitely use some sprucing up. The graphics will make it all much more user friendly as well.

Ā  Ā· Ā 7 years agoĀ (edited)

@overkillcoin thanks for the info and why u hate those?

Because I'd rather stay home and STEEMIT XD

lol steemit.com 24/7 thumbsup @overkillcoin

Ā  Ā· Ā 7 years agoĀ

Informations are better explained in pictures. And I had an easy time understanding your article now. Nice graphics, great work. Thank you @overkillcoin. :)

What did you learn?

Ā  Ā· Ā 7 years agoĀ

I have a learned a lot obviously about the basics of the platform. The most important part is about the steem power, what happens when you power down. I thought when you power down, you'll just lose SP, but no - the lost power will be converted to steem :)

Nice! It's good that you took the time to read, thank you.

Thank you

I still dint know the functions of "Savings"

but now I know....:)

Ā  Ā· Ā 7 years agoĀ

I gain knowledge about steemit wallet ..Thanks a lot for sharing this info...

So when i transfer savings what happens? And do i need a substantial amount to make it worth while due to transaction fees or other costs? And then Am i supplying my etherium address to ship these dollars too or buying them somewhere

There are zero fees to move from your regular steem wallet to savings.

I'll have to elaborate on the other question a bit later. But, yes, if ETH is what you'd want, I recommend using blocktrades for that

ah ok. i guess i need to try to perform a transaction on my own so i know how it all works i guess with about $6 in savings i thought it probably wasnt worth while to transfer right? and according to your posts as well is that $6 in steem not $6 in USD, so its actually more then $6 usd right?

Once you make a post and the 7 days pass and the payout is given does the post still make money after that 7 day period? Is it added to another block in the chain? Can i upvote a comment that is past its payout for a post you made and still make steem on it week after week?

Ā  Ā· Ā 5 years agoĀ

PLEASE re port this amazing infographic in segments maybe make a basic animation where you just go from frame to frame, i could split this up into engagements maybe animate a few pieces i can add seriously just a LIL bit of animation to the graphics just so they blink ona nd off maybe, lkike basic stuff, so they can be an animated grapohic cuz its so perfect

Ā  Ā· Ā 5 years agoĀ (edited)

Can't though... Too many demands on me as of late :( Nothing has gone right for me in 2019 so I am working 3x as hard just to get by. Working in construction to make ends meet and I have no time or energy for graphics like I used to.

Ā  Ā· Ā 5 years agoĀ

i believe if you made a new series of steem posts to explain your story, situation, the past work youve done, you could morte than likely get some upvotes and get attention from whales who might be happy to upvote you for more graphics work for steem. @anrarchy seems to be making steem videos, and I bet he could use a hand especially if you can do some basic coinversions of your images to animations to explain steempower sbd and steem, and curationa nd ddlegation etc in extra videos

may be worth trying out, thanks for your suggestion...

Ā  Ā· Ā 5 years agoĀ

Speak of the devil, steemit inc actually just got a brand new Marketing video! I am guessing @steemit-marketing or @anrarchy is the one who made this,

maybe doing it himself to save money, even using his own voice as a narrator, and if he made it himself, as long a sit didn't take too long to animate it should be simple enough to replicate the template and make a lot more videos to explain all the pieces of steem

. Now he just has to make a few more about curation delegation, how steempower works, maybe a quick apendix on steem engine, steemconnect and examples of how to use a few steem dapps, and we would have an amazing educational series to do the work of so many countless hours trying to explain steem.... these new videos can do it in a fraction of the time and make steem look a LOt more "investable" to outsiders

Hi AckZa,

I found the vector source file for my wallet infographic... so maybe I'll try just ONE short video. If it ends up getting significant backing from a whale or two, I can continue. If not, I'll know not to proceed further....

Ā  Ā· Ā 5 years agoĀ (edited)

Good job i am sure you will get upvotes just come on https://minnowpond.org and https://steemspeak.com discords and show us

Ā  Ā· Ā 5 years agoĀ (edited)

whales dont really give upvotes their SP is all delegated , but minnows and dolphins do

Maybe @thejohalfiles @fyrstikken and his friend @elgeko and @flauwey @flauwy can give you upvotes for some new posts about this project, any videos especialy animation of what you made here would be SOARLY needed on youtube

@andrarchy just released THS and could really use more for @steem-marketing

but again they have delegated most of their SP you can get whale support but support from whales may not be needed, u just need enuf dolphisn and minnows

You need to post your OLD work, re post it, show people your odlk work and just PLAn to do new stuff and wtahc yoruself get upvotes , peopel KNOW you need upvotes to get yourself inspired, i believe you will get plenty of support if you start posting about our convos, and justa simple plan to animate just oen part maybe...

juist post a post about what you WOULD do to animate one part of yoru video and u can milk it break it down into many pieces and get upvoets for all of them
