^{So what do you think? Have I had a good run here? What do you see for my future in regards to the Steem blockchain?}

It's been an entire year!

We're in a rough patch with crypto prices, but I will still stay around as much as a busy life will allow me to!

Bye bye for now

I'm meeting with a prospective client tomorrow and have to work hard to catch up on two rather large projects. Hope to be back on the weekend with maybe another gif!

I think that bitcoin and crypto investors always provoke dips to buy cheap and then sell expensive, I hope that investors end up buying from those who sell desperately and the market stabilizes next week will surely be high, if we see the graphics is like a cliclo always happens like this

@themarkymark I read that the pay window used to be 30 days, imagine the upvotes one could accumulate if the post were of a high quality :D

I think the smaller payout windows (7 days) is a big problem for evergreen content. This is especially the case for apps like @dtube where many content producers spend a lot of time developing content that is meant to persist well past 7 days.

Think web shows, tutorial videos, and many other formats that have far longer than a 7-day shelf life. Even quality posts deserve to be rewarded longer than the 7-day window.

I believe a big part of why there is only a 7-day window is because of the burden on the nodes to process further out. I wasn't around when there was a 30-day payout window, so I can only guess.

I'd love to see a 30-day staggered payout window. Even longer for apps like @dtube that may draw viewers over a very long period of time.

Unfortunately, there is a major discovery problem and there is no way to support longer payout windows as most things are virtually invisible after a few days in all the noise and long feeds. Without a way to selectively pin posts to your feed and have a "profile page" where you can build up a portfolio of your favorite content, a longer payout period wouldn't do all that much.

The fact you can't always scroll far in someone's feed without the page failing to load more amplifies this problem.

Then you have the problem that most of the content Steem isn't of the highest quality.

Do you foresee a dLive SMT that could open up the restrictive pay window to encourage more large scale projects?

Alternatively, I'd love to see built-in tipping -- small contributions can really add up over time and that could incentivize the creation of more evergreen content :D

That would be an interesting use of an SMT, I don't think we would see something like that though. I would be all for extending the payout window, especially for media content.

I think people generally have an aversion to tipping, even more so than upvoting.

I truly can't imagine being a whale, the only way that's possible is by powering down and trading steem successfully to reach 500,000 -- such a LONG way off! (and risky too!) :)

I feel your pain. I have taken on another contract myself to help pay bills and hopefully make some extra for some crypto buys.

Means less steemit time but contracts come and go and the blockchain is always there.

It does seem like you do have to stumble around and see what works when you first get here. Posting all the time is exhausting (unless you're a shit poster/ spammer). Although someone half had a go at me for not posting regularly the other day, even though steemit is not my full-time job, it doesn't pay my bills, and I think three a week is actually plenty.
