Today, I watched a speech by Simon Sinek, and it made me think about what we are doing here on Steemit.
-Here is the video-
In case you do not know, Simon Sinek can be considered a great motivator and influencer. He works to fix the world's biggest problems, like suicide and issues with our generation.
In Sinek's video, he talks about how, as humans, we thrive on helping each other, and the reason so many of us feel hollow and like we are doing nothing is because we don't help other people, and we get ahead in our jobs by screwing other people over. This creates a generation where we must take care of out clients and customers, while we are not taken care of.
As he talked, I thought about Steemit. We at Steemit build trust with each other in the form of upvotes and comments. If I like the thing you made, I will upvote it, or even comment. Here, those who help other people get help from others, and in turn everyone benefits. I notice a lot of this going on in the area where people need motivation. I saw that someone in Venezuela needed a new piece for their computer, and everyone started upvoting so that the person would get enough money, as well as some exposure.
We can achieve great things as human beings, and I think that Steemit and the blockchain here is the first step.
