A showcase for Steemit artists, crafters, writers, makers. Soon online!

in steemit •  8 years ago  (edited)

Something is growing again in the Steemverse in the last week. Daily data for posts, comments and new accounts are rising again, it seems (well, I'm not sure if it is a temporary peak or a trend).

The last announcement from the Marketing Team has been a push, perhaps. Some proposals  and ideas recently posted got attention from the little Steemit community. It is a very good thing :)

So, I'm going to announce our (@silviabeneforti 's and mine) website to showcase art items from Steemit artists, crafters, makers.

Steemarket

Steemarket will be online in the next few days, as a showcase where Steemit users will be allowed to put their paintings, drawings, sculptures, photograph prints, digital art, sculptures, artistic objects and so on.

At first, it will be just a showcase. Not a shop. A listing of items to be sold using SteemDollars as currency. The core of the project is that: create an opportunity to use Steem as a real currency to buy things. We want to promote art items created by Steemit users and to show them to other Steemit users. The sales will happen among seller and buyer, in their wallets.

Hints and suggestions are welcomed :)

(This project started some weeks ago, so it is perhaps late to propose it in the "protocol form" introduced by  @andrarchy and  @zurvanic. Maybe not. We are launching our webside anyway, but a support from Steemit Inc would be nice :) )

Stay tuned! :)

Congrats for the initiative and good luck!

thx. We will see how the community will take it :)

Great! Thank you! How will this work exactly...?

Thx! We'll have a website to showcase artworks and creative stuff from steemians, so to promote and share them. Please, be patient for some other day and we'll post an announcement and guide for it! :)

Great! Thanks!!!

welcome ;)

:)

I hope I won't miss the notification (post) about it... :)

we will make a lot of spamming of it :D

Haha, good! :D

This is great! I know some artists who will be very interested in this. Resteemed :)

Hope we can find a way to work together in some way...

thx very much. I think we can surely collaborate.
I also hope to have more artists from my network joining steemit. :)

I am fully support that. One thing I am afraid is... whether people spread around whole World would be actually able to not only buy stuff, but also do shipping which will not be too expensive.

I thought about that a lot, and I have a theory.. that at the beginning maybe it would be easier to focus on.. .services, which can be delivered remotely.

  • research for demand
  • online teaching of any subject
  • language lessons via skype
  • help in translation X to Y
  • graphic designs for demand, etc.

What do you think?

Offering services is an option I'm thinking about too - still in art. But I'm not worried about shipping cost: I have been selling on Artfinder, Saatchi, etsy and ebay for a while, and I saw how people manage it. Shipping costs have to be clearly specified for different world zones, so that the buyer can evaluate it and pay it when he decides to buy an item.

Very Cool, looking forward to see where this goes!

thx! :)

That's a cool project. I hope some of the whales will show support by buying some art for their underground lairs (or wherever they live). The @steemshop effort may have similar aims. We do have Peerhub, but that doesn't seem very active from what I've seen.

thx Steeve. I'm going to collaborate with other commerce projects for sure.
Peerhub is almost dead, it seems.

Shame about Peerhub. I just keep seeing the same items there, but I've not heard from the @peerhub creators in a while. We need ways to make transactions easier. I see @steemshop posts suggesting using Steem chat to exchange delivery details, but it's an extra step for users. On Peerhub they have private messages. Maybe one day there will be an ebay equivalent using Steem.

A private messaging in Steemit would be very useful. Busy has messaging too. I'll try to put a pvt msg in my website.
