HOW TO BUILD YOUR OWN STRONG STEEMIT NETWORK

in steemit •  7 years ago

For you to be a successful Steemian you will find out that good network-building skills have more impact that your blogging talent. Nomatter how good your blogging is, you will discover that you will struggle if you don’t have a good network to support your work. As you will go through the posts that other steemians blog, you will see some very simple and short posts earning more upvotes, comments and rewards than some well-researched and detailed blogs by other Steemians. Just from this, you have to learn that it goes beyond a blogging talent but goes deep into a well-built strong steemit network.

I would like to give credit to @tinashe, @zimleague, @mindhunter, @jamesbrown and many others because through interacting with them I learnt many important lessons in network building here on Steemit and that made me able to catch up quickly with the Steemit system.

You will find out that Steemit is very different from other social networks where people can become your friends or followers because you have an attractive or sexy profile pic or you come from a certain good place. Steemit deals more professionally with very high intellectual ways of doing and seeing things than many social networks therefore it requires a different approach in network building and I shall be giving you tips in this post. These tips will help both newbies and the old steemers who still want to continue building on their networks.

##UPVOTE AND COMMENT POSTS BY OTHER STEEMIANS

It’s not about spending all your votes on yourself but learn to appreciate other steemians’ work by upvoting their posts. When you upvote their work, you encourage them to keep steeming and everybody likes to keep company with somebody who gives them the energy to do well. After upvoting, don’t forget to pass a friendly comment that is in line with the post. This means you have to go through the post before commenting so that your comment will be the perfect one. Passing a good comment will be like a friendly invitation to the person into your network. There are people who always pass good comments on my posts and I will always check their blogs so as to curate their posts even if their posts will not be showing in my feeds.

Don’t just upvote so as to earn the curation rewards, upvote so as to build a network because the network will offer you lasting and continuous rewards that a once-off curation reward which is usually very small. Upvoting and not leaving a comment is sometimes like being a ghost-donor. The person enjoys your input but may not even recognise you because the post might even be having more than 400 upvotes. But a comment after upvoting will now spark the possibility of having that person in your network or having him/her receive you into their networks which might be stronger and better than yours.

Do not let your voting skills betray your network growth. Do you know that upvoting a post that other people are not voting for makes your vote very visible than voting a post that everyone is voting for. Vote for potential posts but spare two or three votes to vote for posts that other people are not willing to vote for. The person will easily notice you and will feel appreciated and be drawn into your network. Remember that nomatter how poor a post may be, the person will have input time and energy in it, so even if it may be poor but appreciate the effort and you will win the person.

Curate posts by newbies and minnows too because remember that they have more upvoting and curation passion than most whales. They are the ones who will be refreshing their browsers every minute waiting for your post to show in their feeds so that they can have a sprint race to upvote it. Make curations on whales and dolphins but don’t leave the minnows behind you.

##REPLY TO COMMENTS

Not replying to the comment by other Steemians on your posts discouraging them to keep curating your posts. Just give a nice appreciative reply and thank them too. Remember every second, dozens of thousands posts are being released on the steemit platform so you have to appreciate them for choosing your post among the thousand posts blogged by other steemians. Sometimes even upvote their comments or visit their blogs and curate their works too. This will keep your name ringing in their heads everytime they visit steemit.

KEEPING THE COMPLETED BUILDING INTACT

Now that the building of your network is complete by applying those tips and many other useful tips, this is what you need to do to keep your network alive.

##STAY ACTIVE…keep steeming
After many efforts to construct an active network, don’t relax…keep up the steem. As they follow your posts everyday, they will get used to curating them and will end up being like your fans. A soccer club with many fans earns more than the one with just a few fans. The network is your money. Value them, love them and keep trying your best to bring out satisfactory and quality posts to them
If you become inactive you might end up being forgotten. After making a few posts for the day, curate their works to and try making it an everyday habitual cycle.

##DONT STOP CURATING THEIR POSTS
##HAVE A FRIENDLY ATTITUDE TOWARDS THEM
##SHOW THEM THAT YOU ALSO CARE FOR THEIR PROGRESS

I liked many thing s you ve mentioned in your post and especially when u talked about leaving comments instead of just upvoting so we help each other not just with a simple comments but also by adding remarks about what we found interesting and what was there to discuss and also the fact that steemit is about professionalism not just posting some pics or personnal stuff without any added value !! Thanks, I hope u keep on sharing posts like this one with good quality

Man you made a lot of points here. Even if someone has a good skill in blogging when there is no one to support you on the long run you might give up. I've seen photos of beautiful women with a little caption and when you se the upvotes it is hundreds. Compare to those well written blogs. Cant blame the beautiful women though.

As we adjust to the way this system works, we will enjoy it to the last drop.

Patrick you are doing wonderful helping new and seasoned steemers. Keep it up with noble work of educating others.
