It takes about seven days for Steemit to pay you for a post. From there, you can go to blocktrades.us to sell your steem for another cryptocurrency, or power up and gain visibility.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam
