A Trip Down Memory Lane – Some Steemit History and Contest Inside

in steemit •  7 years ago

STEEM was launched in March 2016, almost two years ago.  With the upcoming birthday I thought we could take a trip down memory lane and look at some of the first postings on Steemit.

The first post on Steemit only earned $1.70, it received 442 votes, 329 comments and still growing and 2,792 views.  It was posted on the 30th March 2016 by @steemit

The first person to reply to this post was @admin

The Second post on Steemit earned $2.05 from 6 votes, 1 comment and only 17 views

It was posted on the 6th April by @red

Two days later on the 8th April @abit stepped in….check out his first post earning only $0.59

Only half an hour after this post, @abit jumps in again with the next post on the block….the first Witness Thread post.

After this post, there was a series of witness posts before this random post by @roadscape

Well now I never, do you see @stellabelle in there with an early comment :-)

I loved this post, the first post by @dantheman

But he must not have been too sure it was working because later he left this comment on a post

Lol @dan it did work and the post you left that comment for was already published to the block.  It was a post by @val

The first post by @ned seems to be a comment.  It was left on a witness thread post by @lafona

@neds first real post, well its not very exciting now, but I bet when he posted it, it was like finally getting to press that big red button

The first post to earn over $1000 was a post by @donaldtrump. This was also the first post to get over 100 votes

Now for a Contest

I found the first post by @ned that was flagged and hidden by low ratings. The first person to find this post and put a link in the comments below will be sent $5 SBD.  Remember this post was hidden due to low ratings…..happy hunting…

I hope you enjoyed this trip down memory lane, I really enjoyed looking at this data.  I ended up getting lost for hours reading posts and comments from the first few weeks.  This is a piece of history folks.  The first posts on a social media blockchain.  Happy Birthday Steemit - hoping for many more historic moments.

Thank you for bringing those good memory, how time flies!

that was sooo soooo sooo super fast

I may have a full copy of the entire blockchain in a local database, so unfair advantage? ;)

Dammit @ginabot, why didn't you wake me up at 1am local time! :P

odd that it made so much money and comments yet was flagged... and oddly enough no flame wars on it.

Yeah maybe Dan was voting to not have the name change in the commands. Looks more like a technical debate rather than a disagreement.

silliness

I see, so this is how all things are started! full of efforts and hard work.thanks for sharing..

It must have been very lonely for them in those days. Wonder what its going to be like in another two years time

How could these brand new accounts have like 50-70+ on the ("popularity scoring")? 😲

Otherwise a very nice post, thank you for the compilation!
