Destination 6: Death Valley

I recently took a trip down to Death Valley Desert, the hottest place on Earth!! Luckily, through the last several weeks in December and early weeks in June, it is a reliable 60 degrees throughout the day and around 45 at night, perfect for day trips through the desert. Death Valley how so many phenomenal landmarks to visit they will keep you busy for days. I stayed for 5 days and still was not able to get to every place. From colorful mountains of pink, purple and blue to massive stretches of pure salt there are amazing things to view. A few of the places I visited was a crater created by a long-ago erupted volcano, several stretches of salt formations and many off-road trails. One of my favorite landmarks was Hunter Mountain. Traveling though Hunter Mountain will feel like you are transported into a different part of the world, nothing like a desert. Hunter Mountain is coated with years hundreds of years old and so many flowering plants, such beautiful scenery. I traveled with my family and we brought a trailer​ and an RV and were able to say cheaply in nice RV parks surrounded by the stark, rigid mountains fo the desert. Our early morning wake ups consisted of hopping into rented Jeeps and trying to see as many landmarks as we could in one day. There are many old gold mines and abandoned buildings that are left from many years ago during the gold rush. After going on this trip I can definitely​ recommend Death Valley as a very unique and fun place​ to travel. With so many places to visit this trip will keep you busy for many days. Not to mention the hour and a half hike through massive sand dunes to get to the end and slide down them. Have fun!
