The number of posts were lower over the weekend as usual. A bit lower than last week this time, but still way higher than 2 weeks ago. The reward pool dropped below 1 million STEEM this weekend and now contains 993,907 STEEM. It's a 30 day pool so there's 33,130 STEEM available to be distributed per day. At the current STEEM price that's $52,677 USD per day.
I've added the Alexa.com rank of Steemit.com to my 'Steem Price update' picture at the bottom of this post. Thank you @acidyo for this idea. We've passed the 5,000 mark for the first time ever! This means Steemit.com is part of the 5,000 most popular websites worldwide. And it's still rising.

Good information to see. Seems like my gut feeling was right. Everything was slowing down. Less posts, less votes... makes life hard for minnows I think.

New steem is added to the pool continually, but since Hard Fork 19 more steem is taken out of it than added to the pool. It has to find a new equilibrium.

It would be interesting to graph number of posts per day v reward pool available per day, and to then show average reward pool available per post - both in steem and US dollar equivalent. Does that make sense?

New accounts are being approved manually. I think the team is less active on sundays. I expect to see a higher bar today. We saw this a week ago as well.

My crystal ball doesn't seem to work very well today. Predicting a price in the short term is very hard. I believe it's a good investment in the long term, but you never know what the best entry price will be.

Very interesting information even if I don't get it all. I'm on Day 8 here and learning a lot. The Alexa rank is what convinced me to try after a few recommendations. I had also noticed being linked to some good content over here randomly in the last weeks. Then @jerrybanfield [who I follow on You Tube] went apoplectic in his enthusiasm so I had no choice but to join if I did not want to be a loser.
