9. Steem Price Update
Really good to see the amount of Steem being powered up increase a bit over the last week. I expect to see profit taking at every new bump up but hopefully we continue to acquire new investors to help offset this.

Great stats! I do think that when the communities feature is live on Steemit (which will be this month, according to the 2017 roadmap), we will see a lot more activity on Steemit, particularly a raise in the number of active users, posts, upvotes and comments. This will increase earnings as well so I'm not sure how much more STEEM will be sold as a result when people cash out.... But it's going to be an interesting time indeed!

when steem starts going to $2 soon, people will panic buy and peopel will be powering up, peopel will all be pumping steem and steempower so that you can earn thru curation and like u were just saying to dana, curation is totaly possible for achieving a 10 percent "interest" and so peopel will also be piushing the idea of steempower to earn on curation which you will! its a GREAT way to just make money having fun and upvoting! so many reddit users dream was to get paid to upvote good material! now its a dream come true and we shouldnt pass this opportunity up! If we all help curate we can help high quality posts make it onto the trendiong pages more often we have a lot of good content that never gets eeen or rewarded
anyway i believe the power downs will all stop as steem price goes up!
But yeah its fiune steem has SO many p[eople earning and immeidtaly selling or powering down cashing oiut and that is incredible! its fantastic that we can SUPPORT this many thousands of people all making good amounts f money and never saving any as steem! But theyre always the peopel who never have much money so its never much! its just thousands of people taking out a few bucks each so its never that much added up! The whales and peopel with the mosts teem are smarta nd save it up as steempower so they can earn their fortunes from curation rewards justr sitting there upvoting all day! So you never have to woprry about the self regulating steemit ecosystem! its working so terrifecaly its so balanced its such a brilliant idea and its working so well and theres nothing like it! nothing decentralized that makes as much money for this many random people, bitcoin is limited to whoever has the money to invest in bitcoin mining or the closed bitcoin world, while steemit is open to anyone! ajnyway i am excited to see the over 1000 new accounts registered a day on steemit thats pretty amazing! after next hard fork we will have no problem with our botleneck! we will have as many new accounts as we need! im so proud of the steemit team and lucky to be apart of this group of human beings all making money from steemit!

Very interesting to see the comments per post decline like they seem to have. Maybe it's not statistically significant, but I wonder if the reduction might be a result of spam countermeasures? @personz

Besides the power down, I see a pretty significant decline in the comments per post stat. That's worrying as it shows a serious drop in engagement and without engagement, steemit will become less of a thriving community and more of a way to "mine" steem using selfvotes and bots.

I am really surprised that the price is staying above $1.00 with all the sells and the daily supply. Once we see more daily active users in the 100,000 range I think it will hit a tipping point and we will see steem at $5-10 range.
